good travel booking site or person?

For flights, http://www.hipmunk.com/ has the best search function, although sometimes the purchase links will only have US options. It's a good starting point. http://yyzdeals.com/ is worth a look too. The package deal finder is useful.

    Lemon Pledge On Your Bike??

Carl at GP Bikes recommended shop towels (from Canadian Tire) for me. They seem to work without scratching.

    Riding in the rain

Be sure you only put the Rain-X on the outside of the visor. I haven't tried, but I suspect it might make the inside fog up more easily. Anti-fog treatment on the inside is another good idea for riding in the rain.

    Riding in the rain

Rain-X on the visor is a good idea. I bring a little bottle of it if I'm doing a multi-day route.

    Hot Weather Riding Tip

I would avoid sugar-free electrolyte replacement drinks. The sugar helps the body absorb the salts. See: http://rehydrate.org/ors/ort.htm in the "Physiology" section.

    Hot Weather Riding Tip

Coconut water is apparently almost ideal for electrolyte replacement. There are other salts aside from sodium chloride that are lost, so electrolyte replacement drinks have an edge. I'd recommend avoiding bottled Gatorade if you have a choice. The powder stuff is cheaper and doesn't have...

Looking for a rain suit suggestion .

I picked up a one-piece suit made by Held at Yamaha of Oakville—sturdy and good quality. They also carry Kriega waterproof bags that will keep the rest of your stuff dry. I would definitely recommend a one-piece over two-piece. I have tried both in the rain. The one-piece kept me dry.

New Rider, First bike: Which one??? (Guide to choosing your first ride)

An F800 is probably not a bad choice if it compares to the G650GS I rented. A bit expensive as beginner bike is all.

Re: Switching to Reserve My old bike had a "Prime" setting instead of the "Off". The prime might have fixed the sputtering for the OP.

    Drz

One more good thing about the DRZ that I was thinking of today while caught in traffic on my Street Triple... The DRZ is a tall bike—perfect for seeing what is up ahead. I know that's a disadvantage to some, but I had no problem with the height. One disadvantage is the seat. It has been...

    Drz

The carb is no problem. Most times the choke isn't needed and it's ready to ride by the time your gloves and helmet are on. It's fine on the highway... not exactly a rocket at highway speeds, but no problem passing. The bike is very natural to ride and perfect for the city. The motocross style...

Renting a motorcycle in a foreign land

I rented a G650GS in Munich and rode through the Alps for a week. I don't remember if they even checked my license, but it was no problem even with an M2.
