Having owned a FZ6R I can't see why they restrict this to M's only, its a pretty tame bike. Well I guess Yamaha can watch their market share slip even further.

If you build it they will come, if Yamaha doesn't bring bikes that people want to ride, people won't show up. If yamaha restricts everything to an M class license, people won't show up.

Everybody does it. During one interview I was doing I noticed the candidate had on his resume that he was fluent in French, both verbal and written. So naturally I said speaking French is an asset for this position............to which he responded, well I can't really speak French anymore...
As much as I like the R1 if I can't ride one I won't be buying one. I took an S1000RR for a demo and loved it so most likely that is the next saddle my arse will be in.
I am only 1 person but how many others will overlook the R1 because they can't try before the buy.
