If the officer was not available, couldn't you just go ahead and proceed with the trial? Or did they somehow "force" you to discuss it with the prosecutor?
In other other words, couldn't you just say that you don't need to have the disclosure explained to you if the officer is not going to be...
Does this case apply to OP's situation, though? It seems the above case referred to a situation where the driver crossed (or drove in/through in some manner) the area where an on-ramp meets the highway (they refer to it as "bull-nose"). Sounds to me like this driver changed lanes "too early"...
Passed the other day at Downsview. Unfortunately, the guy before me did not. I believe he was failed for changing lanes too close to the car behind him (in the lane he was entering) on the 401. I don't know if that was the only reason, but that's the only error they discussed.
One piece of...
I don't think I ever had a chance for an 11b. Ticket was issued last December, trial was in May. I'm really quite impressed--and surprised--at the efficiency of the downtown ticket/court office...
Me? Yes, I did. The officer went with me right after the trial to get a photocopy of the manual and his notes. New trial was set for 2 months after the original trial. Prosecutor pushed for just one month, but I was going to be out of town, so they begrudgingly agreed to two months...
Honest question, how would you argue this? I ask because I received disclosure on the day of the trial. The prosecutor and the JP pushed pretty hard to proceed, arguing that I didn't need much time to review the material. A copy of the officer's notes and his explanation in the hallway was...
I think it's going to be difficult to get typed notes (and with shortforms/acronyms explained). When I went earlier this month and got an adjournment, the prosecutor wanted to set the new trial for early June, basically one month away. I asked it to be changed to late June since I'd be out of...
1/3 showed up.
The one was for a speeding ticket recently, and it was the downtown court location.
The other two was for a U turn (YRP, High Tech Rd location), and a parking in fire route (from parking enforcement).
I recently had to go through this exact process with the downtown location. I showed up around 9:30 am and there was NO LINE! Maybe only a handful of people there.
I was actually quite surprised with how quickly things moved along. Got the ticket in mid December, filed for trial date...
If you take it to trial, my understanding is that your ticket does not show up on your record until you get convicted on the day of the trial. Then the ticket stays on your record for however many years from that day, not from the day you received the ticket.
So if your insurance comes up for...
Confused... are you saying to record a GPS log after the fact? I don't understand how that can be submitted as evidence. Or did you happen to be recording a GPS log at the time you were pulled over?
If you're going to record a GPS log after the fact, then why not record yourself going under...
I've taken Megabus from Toronto Coach terminal (downtown) to Buffalo airport before. They had a sale; came out to be $7 or so one way. I think it's still pretty cheap even without a sale, probably < $20.
Only problem is they only have 2 buses that go there each day.
