Further to that motorcyclists should not have to rev their engines to alert other drivers of their presence at every stop. I find it to be more of a hazard as that sound tends to drown everything else out.

False, maybe the cost of the ticket is significantly less than the cost of repainting due to door dings etc (which it is) Other drivers love to park closely and could care less about paint condition about their car.
