Did you consider the Kawasaki Ninja 1000? Looks like a SS, goes like a SS, but has a fairly neutral riding position, and you can get luggage for it.

I assume you put aftermarket handlebars on it right? If so, try this... http://www.barsnake.com/ I beleive it will work if your handlebars are hollow. I wanted to try it with my bike, but they are not hollow all the way throughout.
