    Review: Advanced Road Craft

Thanks for the information... I've been looking for something like this!

Wear your gear. And don't cry to mommy.

You're right. I take everything back. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Wear your gear. And don't cry to mommy.

My point is that it is wasted time... let's say it takes you just 0.25 seconds, just because you're so awesome (a Speed Demon after all). So now you've gone 7 metres more than you needed to. Honey, that's half the length of a bus.

Wear your gear. And don't cry to mommy.

I do, and have done for years. It lessens your reaction time significantly... think about it... 0.5 to 1 second to move fingers from throttle to brake lever. How far do you travel at 100km/h in 0.5 seconds? About 14 metres.

Wear your gear. And don't cry to mommy.

Yeah, in the US a broken wrist or ankle can cost thousands. A helicopter ride if necessary by itself will cost the patient around $15,000. I did not find this video funny at all, probably because I'm a screamer myself, LOL It was interesting to play the video back just prior to impact to see...

    Long-distant member

Welcome! Your post makes me wonder who the longest distance long distance member on this forum is... Were you ever a resident in the GTA or are you planning a repatriation to the GTA, perhaps, Frank?

    Workplace Jerks...

I admire your spirit, and I have the same tendencies. I agree that it's best to find a workplace that would be accepting of different sorts of people in the first place, which is something I did not do (being young at the time and unaware of what American Conservatives in the Deep South are...

    bohn armor pants???

I have had Bohn armor pants for a number of years and they work great, except on the hottest of days in the Deep South where I am currently, unfortunately. You have to get the right size so the armor stays planted. If they are too big, things will shift around, so follow the instructions on the...

    Workplace Jerks...

In my experience, sometimes these workplace snickers can lead to bigger problems... mainly through political channels, especially in toxic work environments (where you have a few backstabbers around). What workplace isn't a little toxic? I have shown up to work wearing motorcycle gear and it...

    Cagers in my lane

Depending on the situation, it's probably not best to be in the right lane when going straight through an intersection. You want to be as visible as possible to left turners, and the best position for that is usually in the leftmost lane (right portion) and well behind the vehicle in front...

    Getting Gas

The amount of extra gasoline you will be able to put in if the bike is upright is marginal. Anyway, it's good not to overfill your tank, you could end up losing some of that extra gas through evaporation, or plugging up your EVAP cannister (if you have one) with liquid gas (I've seen liquid...

Girls are the best accessory on a bike....

Welcome! So if you are the passenger, whose 1125R is that in your photo?! Such a rare find on this forum. I ride one also, although I have removed the passenger pegs (in accordance with the Book of Buell, of course).

    semi-geriatric rider here...

Chungd: Thanks! I may take you up on your offer to get me on the BMW path... My plan is to see how it goes with the Buell for the first year. I can do my own maintenance, but the main issue will be getting parts. They are getting scarcer and scarcer. But the Buell is an excellent ride, at...

And thanks to everyone for the many welcomes, in spite of the fact that I'm just another male rider, LOL

    semi-geriatric rider here...

It's just nice to know that in these days of miracle and wonder that we have options. :D I'm further west, in College Station. I get out to Houston a lot, mostly to the airport. Also get out to Austin, if only to enjoy the changes in elevation around there. How long were you in Texas? I've...

    semi-geriatric rider here...

I can understand your affinity for BMWs, now. You can tell so much about a person from the bike they ride. How do you like your 1300S? I can see it being a real pleasure on the road, effortless acceleration and smooth ride. Since the demise of Buell, I have been giving thought to switching to...

    Handles

Every once in a while, a great handle just spontaneously emerges. "Col. Angus" is brilliant, and, unfortunately, not mine. It's gotta be original. Being away from Canada (and my beloved Toronto) so long made me think of somehow incorporating a reference... it's there, and yet neatly concealed...
