Rory, I have an S2 front and a Q3 rear on my cbr600 right now. Best of both worlds I guess. Had them on all season last year and I ride from Milton to Waterloo rain or shine. No issues with warm up with either of these tires and no issues in the wet.
I wasn't saying that he should have come to a complete stop. Given his following distance that probably would not have been the best thing to do, but he sure went in between those cars with a lot of speed and very little room to manoeuvre. I feel he could have scrubbed off a bit of speed...

This is exactly how I explain it to people. Anytime I'm on the road bike or car and I see something odd, I always do a double take in my mirrors...seeing a woman on the side of the road chasing ducks around...

Yes, but that's still 0.5 second per lap. If an actual race were only 1 lap long that would be great. If both of you are pounding out the same consistent lap times over 15 laps, how far back would you be then? That extra 90lbs would also wear your tires out faster towards the end of the race...
