Metzler M5 and M7 Sportec's are awesome, as are the Racetec's.... I suggest if you don't ride aggressively, to get the Roadtec's. Metzler's are phenomenal in the rain. My Racetec's and Sportec's have been rain tested at well over 200 clicks and still held like glue. Can't go wrong with Metzler!
We stayed in Knoxville's best hotel (was pretty nice), Maryville (cheap hotel) and Gatlinburg (nice place on the river, room was huge and the hot tub inside was unreal). We stayed in Gatlinburg the longest. By far the most fun place, when you're done riding for the day and touring around doing...
Those 3 occupant HOV lanes are stupid... Yes, I can get down the DVP on the bike quicker, but the 401 sucks..... Also, driving my 2 seat roadster with 2 passengers (vehicle is full using all seat belts) I can't use the HOV? Sorry, but do I need to throw a dead hooker in the trunk or something...
Come out for a ride with my girlfriend and I. We can show you anything you need to know about riding 2 up. She can drag her hand on pavement while I'm knee down in a corner. We thoroughly enjoy this awesome roundabout by my house quite often.
It's all about the two people being balanced...
Noob gets a small displacement bike, instantly thinks he needs a liter bike. How typical lol.
Do it, because then you'll sell it with like 5000 km and put it on Kijiji for more than you financed it for.
Trailer the bikes down. Just got back from there with the lady. Get a hotel in Gatlinburg and go check out Cades Cove. Lots of stuff to do in G-burg. King size bed, hot tub in room, fireplace.... Room cost 100 a night. It was insanely cheap. G-burg has everything you'd want as a tourist and all...
Get a better job and stop complaining. It's expensive and that's that... I pay 3700 a year for insurance on my bike. That doesn't include my two cars (one brand new, one classic) or all the other expenses that come with living life here in Ontario or elsewhere. No one said growing up was gonna...
I did a similar ride to this last summer on an R6 with my lady on the back, tank bag and panniers. Same reason I need a Super Tenere ES lol. My back was F'ed up the next day.
You make carbs seem like they are hard to deal with or somethin' lol. Easier to fix than electronics frying!! Effort to get going on a cold day: flick down choke, start, let sit for 30 seconds to a minute, flick up, ride.
Maybe I'm just old school.... I've had bikes with FI before, just...
I have an 01' in immaculate condition. 64,000km. It's my daily rider. Carbs don't make a bike bad for daily riding. I rode my R6 36,000km last season... most I've ever put on it in a year.
The handlebars are raised like an inch or two as well.
Get a carb'd 99' - 02' R6 (not the R6S), easily under 4 grand and go -1 / +3 on the sprockets. 15/51 and you'll have a wild time! They are wonderful bikes. Look out for the well documented second gear issue.
Yamaha R3, due to the extra power and the fact that it's a more capable machine than the 250 engine bored out to a 300. Twin = more torque and it has more HP. The CBR300 isn't worth getting, it's a revamped 250. The R3 is built from scratch. Get a used CBR250 if you're going Honda.
Shouldn't be riding a SS and not be able to competently handle it. Ya know, there are people who can drag knees on their 125/250, buy and SS and then tear it up..... Those guys who start on 600's or liter bikes are the slow ones.... Also the guys who upgrade after a month and 1200 km because...
