Some of the lower tier brands already have aggressive pricing on helmet so i don't see why anyone would want to buy these Chinese brand helm over here in the Canadian side.
Even if you have your M1, you can still get insurance and ride the bike =), so after the course if you feel comfortable enough, just go find a parking lot to practice.

McCowan between 14th and hwy7, on the right hand side lane (going north) there are a lot of pot holes, a lot! there are some serious huge ones where you can sink your whole front tires in, becareful riding around there.
I been looking into it as well, actually wrapping a helm isn't so bad like check out how this guy does it, pretty simple. But of course you need the right equipment.
