    Camping with a bike

Because I've owned a cabin for 20 years, I've never gone camping, but because I've been working on my gsx650f to make it more touring friendly, I've got the bug to try a bit of camping with it. Thing is, I don't have any experience, and until I do, I don't want to blow a fortune on equipment...

Road the Tiger 800. Wasn't impressed, though every review is glowing. The Beemer might be nice.

Bull-it Vectran Jeans – better than Kevlar!

Just picked up a pair yesterday and am trying to find some knee armour that will fit in the knee pockets. My Fox armour is too big. Any suggestions? The only place I can see to order the actual Bull-it armour is from Australia!

LOL. The Street R is excess to me! But I take your point.

Have you ridden the Street? No reason to go with anything else. The definition of Hooligan bike.

    Leather or Textile Jackets

Well, I'll be the lone dissenter. For the street, I find textile to be far more practical. You can wear it all year 'round, hot or cold, rain or shine. It's lighter in weight, lot's of hi-viz options, styles, etc. I did have one low-speed accident in which it held up perfectly. Wouldn't wear it...

    Toronto Harley/Ducatti dealer closed?

A friend just told me that the new HD dealer on Lawrence by the DVP is closed. They had a sale of everything in the store at 50% off. Emailed only existing clients. Bikes were gone in 45 minutes. Heard this from a guy he works with who supposedly picked up a $30K bike for $14K. The place is...

    Motorcycle repairs courses

Best thing to do is read your owners manual cover to cover. Then maybe a Haynes manual or similar. I know Centennial College offers a course at their Warden/Eglinton campus.

Just switched from TD to John Duffy!

Just got my renewal from Duffy. $907 -- almost $400 less than last year. Apparently living in Scarborough keeps it high. Jumped $300/yr when I moved here from the Beach.

Touring, Which one SV650 vs GSX650F?

Yeah, the GSX is a bit heavy, but it's also as stable as a freight train on the highway and comfortable for long trips. And the suspension is adjustable. I sometimes wonder whether those who complain about the suspension have actually tried a proper set-up and decent tires. We're talking...

Removing frame sliders to help improve stopping power.

You guys are crazy. You don't have to do all that to your bike! If I sense impending doom, I just hop off the bike! I wear high-tops, so it's OK.

    Any Ajax Riders ????

maybe if the weather holds and they have an east end pick up point. I'd probably only have a couple of hours (hence the desire for an east end joining point) I understand Uxbridge is a nice destination. And there's a nice bakery on the way for coffee and sweets(or whatever) in Goodwood.
