All I do is pump up tires, and I bought a hi-volume bicycle pump from CT and it works fine. Portable, no need to plug anything in, and you get a mini-workout! OP says that's all he wants it for, I find the bicycle pump a lot easier and less complicated. And I can take it on the road to fix flats.

Arrived home from vacation to find them in my pile of mail. Beautiful! Nice tight fit, which I expect will work in nicely. Really nice gloves. Crazy-good for the money. Can't wait to break them in.

So much great advice! Thanks so much for all the replies. I think I may have had a tendancy to overpack. I'm going to get something like a Givi 35 litre top box, and I've got some soft side bags, which should be more than enough storage. Two-person tent sounds like a good idea even though...
