39 yr old on Bandit 600 S - my premium is.....

Well, collision is $32 on my bike, and I have the accident forgiveness endorsement. Comp is also like $30. I figure it this way....$60 will get me a few grand in the event of a write off, and I can use that as a down payment n a new bike. The cost-benefit is there for me.

39 yr old on Bandit 600 S - my premium is.....

$600, with 1m TPL, $1000 Collision / $1,000 Comp with TD Haven't ridden in 18 years. Full GM license since 16, but no bike insurance for 18 years. 1 Ticket. Considering I'm getting 50 MPG the gas savings will pay for the insurance over the course of the season. I'm so happy to get back into...

    chain adjustment / straight wheels

I think I was being a big wuss bag. Test rode it and looked everything over. Looks perfect, feels perfect.....and I think it was loose before. I think I have less lag in response now, but that might be in my head. So all is good, and I'll use some of the tips here in the future for sure. Sent...

Ogio Stealth saddle bags for sportbikes

Bought a set of these from Royal Distributing for $119. They fit my B6 perfectly with the straps under the seat and around the passenger peg mounts and signal stems. I'm really happy with them....they have good capacity and built in rain covers. So far I would highly recommend these. Sent from...

    chain adjustment / straight wheels

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm going to look at it more.....test ride.....look at it again, etc., etc. I wish there was no wiggle room in the metal guides that go over the axle. if the rode true on the axle it would be brainless to get the alignment right.

    chain adjustment / straight wheels

I cleaned, lubed, and adjusted my chain today but nervous that the alignment is off. it looks straight, the brake pad looks like its sitting straight on the rotor, the reference marks are lined up on either side.....but im still nervous. the wheel looks like it spins ok. i noticed when i...

    First ride on my B6

So I finally picked up my bike. 2004 Bandit 600 S, and rode it home from Guelph. Took my sweet old time doing stop and starts and slow turns before heading out on the road, and things started to come back quick. It's been 18 years since Ive ridden, and my last was an 1986 FJ 1200. The little B6...

Back in the saddle after 18 years.......

I spent a few hours yesterday watching youtube videos about riding technique. I remember all this stuff! I will definitely spend some time in the parking lot doing slow speed manoeuvres and basic drills before actually heading out on the road. Stop and gos, tight circles, etc.

    My daily rides are over

I just bought a bike after 18 years of non-riding, and the primary reason is to commute. I have a perfect commute for a bike though....back roads from Brantford to Guelph every day, with little to no traffic. All 80 km/h roads until I get into Guelph, and I don't have to drive far into the city...

Back in the saddle after 18 years.......

I've had to remind myself a few times that even though it's only a 600, it's still bigger than anything I've ridden in 18 years. I don't actually think it "feels" a lot smaller than my FJ did.....but I'm old and senile. I can't wait to ride. I know it won't have the highway passing power of the...

Back in the saddle after 18 years.......

Thanks, Gerry. Not a bad idea to take a course.....I'd much rather drop someone else's bike than my own, but I'd prefer to not drop anything! haha A course isn't in the budget, so I'm going to take it s l o w.......if I find myself really uncomfortable I think I'll make the course a priority...

Back in the saddle after 18 years.......

Hello! It's been 18 years since I wrecked my old 1986 FJ 1200, but the time has come for me to get another bike. I've signed the papers and will be picking up my new to me 2004 Bandit 600 S on Thursday. I'm turning 40 this year, so maybe that has something to do with it, but whatever. lol I...
