    Heated gloves, or winter gloves?

Thanks. I've the vest for summer tours, and the jacket for days like today. 8 degree start, 20 degree finish. Camden Nova Scotia Fog really puts a chill on me, and my feet are still cold. It's the weak link now.

    Goodbye KLR, welcome Husky!

That part makes it extra fun when you dump it in the mud. :)

    Goodbye KLR, welcome Husky!

My buddy has the 450. It's a weapon! Giggle factor in all gears. He made the mistake of loaning it to me on the farm, so my KLR stayed on its side stand until last light. :D Congratulations!

What insoles are you using? That sounds very nice and comfy!

    Heated gloves, or winter gloves?

+1 for the heated grips and gloves. Heated gloves work better than grips alone as it heats the backs of your hands as well, but you will find yourself using heated grips all year long, especially in rain with wet summer gloves.

Fall colours yet? In Central Ontario?

My Dad is from Emsdale, north of Huntsville, and says a lot of the leaves at his place are on the ground already. This is the weekend to do it. And here on the island the colours are peaking between this weekend and next. I hope to be riding in Nova Scotia tomorrow to enjoy the colours.

    Riding in the city...

I used to ride two hours to get out of the GTA to the good roads. Now that I live on Prince Edward Island, the good roads start at the end of the driveway. And the fantastic roads are across the bridge and start just 5 minutes further down. Nova Scotia and New Brunswick have some wicked...

    Can I change tires myself?

Try a few layers of duct tape on the levers where they will touch the rim. Check them for wear. An old bath or tea towel, shop rags help as well.

You can buy a thermal "reflectix " bag at the grocery stores or a similar lunch bag to extend the life of fresh food. I like your thinking.

    Best motorcycle Amazon/eBay deals...

The price is right, although a bit on the small side. Reviews well. I've a 35l for my tent which packs on the large side at around ten pounds with the extra tent pegs, Multi-tool, foot print and repair kit. I could probably go to a 25l but it would be a snug fit, and I'd probably lose the...

    Moto Camping

I used to do breakfast and tea at the campsite, this year I tried breakfast and supper at the campsite, and my last trip I tried to pack it all. That rapidly turned into quite a heavy load as I had a few tinned items.

    Can I change tires myself?

It's been such a long time ago that I can't remember. Craig is awesome, with parts, service and care. I couldn't seat a front tire with my 12v air compressor and he hit it with shop air for free and wouldn't take anything for it. I'd still be using him if I lived in Newmarket. Give him a...

Trangia Lamp / Candle / Lantern I've been playing around with the Trangia clone I bought on fleabay. And I found this reference to using it as a lantern / lamp: https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/trangia-lantern-candle.55884/ I then found a small piece of cotton candle wick (the...

    Can I change tires myself?

I used to use Rosey Toes in Toronto, then Edge Performance in Bradford, now on Prince Edward Island I use Centennial Honda in Summerside. I've also used Competition Cycle in Whitby when I lived in the area. Great service, and the price was right.

I take the rims off and show up with the new rubber. It works out to about $25 dollars a rim.
