Theorical costs: What is the cost to insure a sportbike?

Shouldn't advice come from someone who's actually had experience, or actually have been insured in the past?

Parry Sound Sport Bike Rally! Use it or lose it!!!!

Yeah, I've seen him on Labusas also. I don't know on numbers. It definitely peaked the year after Crowdpleaser's faux pas at around 2000 attendees, but the Ontario Party Pooper's (OPP) crackdown and the change of rally management effectively killed the numbers after that. Last i was up...

Parry Sound Sport Bike Rally! Use it or lose it!!!!

The Legend of Crowdpleaser Lives On! There was a video of that wheelie loop kicking around years ago. Not able to find it now. Edit: here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTFSrKkVVmo&feature=related The guy is on the site, but last posts in 2009, indicated legal beefs related to 2x...

New HOV lanes on the QEW / Green vehicles?

Don't know why the guy even bothered. I travel routinely between Hamilton and Oakville, and i've observed that a fair chunk of drivers in that HOV lane are lone occupants. It doesn't surprise me that most of those, are in SUV's.

Rider on the 400 north of 401 .. someones in trouble

The 'appropriate' action for a hooligan in that sort of situation and that sort of motorcycle, would be off of the highway onto the shoulder, and quick find a break in the fence line isolating the highway corridor, never to be seen again.. hide, forrest, hide!

failing to drive in marked lane

I'm not sure why your level of experience, or age of the bike would come into play in not warranting the ticket. 'Crossing that line' is usually the LAST thing you want to do, whether inadvertantly or by purpose, and whether the opposing lane is clear, or not. It's simply poor practice. Unless...

What do you remember? I'm feeling nostalgic today

The minibike that every motorcycle-aware kid born in the late 60's wanted, even before they wanted the classic Katana that came out in the early '80s.. I wanted one, but couldn't have (kid, you'll poke yer eye out with that).. so i got me one or two of them now in stock and modded trim. I...

What do you remember? I'm feeling nostalgic today

Scooby Doo and Commander Tom on Channel 7(?) in Buffalo on TV on Saturday morning. TV got shut off when Bill on the Hill shorts and Hercules came on, or the rabbit-ears signal faded out. Being smuggled into the 5 drive-in in the trunk by mom and dad. Farrah Fawcett posters. Pre-teen wankage...

Kitchener man charged with racing – 177 km/h in 80 zone on motorcycle

ie. A certain Tim Mulcahy abdicating his personal responsibility and culpability as a father, for raising an irresponsible son - in effect empowering his son with a sporty Audi, in which he killed himself and 2 others in the vehicle during an alcohol fueled romp through Muskoka, into a rock-cut...

Kitchener man charged with racing – 177 km/h in 80 zone on motorcycle

I was just going with the nearest comparator that i could find to come up with the UK penalties, based upon that 'calculator'. Judging by this graph, you are likely correct. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roads_in_the_United_Kingdom#Driving Not having ever been to the UK, I can only go by what...

Not the way i see it. You made some erroneous assertons, and the sources that i've quoted back at ya prove you quite wrong. Your general responses in this thread? Insults, eThuggary, and now, taking your ball and going home. Who got trolled now, son? Bye!

Kitchener man charged with racing – 177 km/h in 80 zone on motorcycle

Hmm.. i'm thinking that this poor chap would beg to differ... he had a few more mitigating road-crime factors involved, but similar speeding situation. http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news--general-news/two-year-ban-for-110mph-biker/10727.html

How so..? They tend to take a hard line when it comes to road-crimes. IE.. if caught with no insurance.. it's not just a $5k fine as it is over here. They seize the vehicle and crush it, along with whatever fine and driving ban is imposed. They've got the electronic licence plate reading...

Kitchener man charged with racing – 177 km/h in 80 zone on motorcycle

I did some checking on this online - i was curious also. Since they work on the imperial system in the UK, i had to switch things over .. 80 km/h == 49.7 mph 177 km/h == 109.98 mph And this is what the site came up with, assuming the rider had a clean licence and more than 2 years experience...

What can i say... my mechanical wrenching/wrecking skills were less than 100% back then..? Built from a rolling-basketcase, and continuously tried to return back to that state of existence. ;) Ohh dats mean!

Speeds have been pretty much established following these guidelines. Optimal fuel efficiency as set in the mid-1970's (highways). Engineered road-design tolerances that are based upon the optimized speed limit and volume of vehicles using the roads, vs the wear and tear expected/experienced...
