Soon to be rider! Any other petite ladies?

My friend just did her M1 exit, she's about 5'0" and 90-95 lbs. At the course she had issues flat footing a cbr125 but she was perfectly fine on a 250cc cruiser (with the exception of the weight of the bike). I'm not sure which type of bike you plan on getting but cruisers are probably the...

Definitive advice for breaking-in modern tyres?

+1 slip on my the BT016 riding home from GP Bikes. They said to go easy around turns and breaking for about 200km. I don't ride track so I cannot comment but it wasn't in my head that it slipped.

    Rosey Toes Safety?

Why not try to do it yourself and learn how to do a few "simple" things. Not to preach but the more you do on your own, the better you will get to know your bike and the less concerned you will be with all of those things until there is a need for concern.

How bad are these chicken strips?

Not sure what the chicken strips have to do with it but L-Twins tend to want to stand up more than inline 4's. That is, they naturally have a tendency to stand up due to how the engine is setup. You do have to put more effort in to leaning it but they have more linear power than an inline 4...

I Almost Got Killed By A Turtle Crossing The Highway

Lmfao, was thinking the the same thing... Wearing something that interferes with your vision (even though it shouldn't) AND admitting it too  Just get a smoked visor, trust me it doesn't interfere.

    Bike Parts (Kawi) West Mississauga

Canadian Tire will carry your bulbs, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Rona, Lowes, Princess Auto will carry nuts and bolts. Unless it's something very specific such as fairing bolts etc. you should be able to get your stuff almost anywhere.

    2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250

I don't own a 250 but the ones I've ridden take a LONG time to warm up. I would agree with 250r-ice and let it run (idle from start) with choke on for 20 mins. What you're describing sounds like my experiences with my 4 friends 250's. I'd think the bike s warm, choke off, dies. I try again...

TD Meloche Monnex - Which Alarm

They just asked for the make and model of the alarm. Didn't need a receipt or to know it was even installed (although I told them I got an alarm and installed it). You can get the grand idea of calling in and saying you have one and make it up but those calls are all recorded so if your bike...

    Motorcycle Dictionary

Squid: The origin of the term squid is ambiguous. It is commonly said to be a contraction of squirrely and kid, or less commonly, squished and kid. It might also have something to do with the appearance of a lightly-clothed person who has fallen off their bike and slid chaotically down the...

TD Meloche Monnex - Which Alarm

Just got off the phone with TD. They asked for the make and model of the alarm and added comprehensive. Premium went up from $82 to $92 per month. Kind of odd that this was covered with other insurance companies I've been with but whatever, bike it now covered. Steal away...

TD Meloche Monnex - Which Alarm

After I posted the message above I went online and found a scorpion alarm. Was on sale for 138 now for 108. I added in the perimeter sensor and the matching harness for my bike. Anyway, long story short, bike now has an alarm that meets TD requirements, I'll be calling in tomorrow for them to...

    Did the cop show up?

They'll almost always show as they make 1.5-2x normal pay for court duty (from what my cop friends say)...

What was your first Mod (If you can remember that far back!)

Ohlins damper, fender eliminator, akrapovic exhaust, power commander 3, all on the same day if they count as 1 mod. If not, your pick as to mod #1 ;-)

    600rr doesn't start. Battery good.

Your battery is dead and it cannot sustain a load. You can buy a load tester from Princess Auto or Canadian Tire but IMO not worth it to troubleshoot something you already know is bad. Best case, replace the battery and enjoy the season, worst case you charge it, *MAYBE* works for awhile then...

    Conviction without trial

Glad to hear it was their mistake OP!

    Conviction without trial

My *guess* is your paperwork either didn't get filed or was "misplaced". You can only be convicted if you didn't show up for trial and everyone else (cop) was there. take your stamped slip and ask for proof that a trial date was set AND sent to you as you haven't received anything since you...

    f8ck state farm

I just dropped State Farm as they're not competitive at all. My bike went up from 79 to 82 with TD but I'm saving HUNDREDS per month, not per year, PER MONTH! I was blown away and I have a perfect driving record. Similar to you, they were the cheapest for everything about 6 years ago. 2...

I lasted 1 whole month without a speeding ticket

+1 Just happened to a family member. Speeding, reduced to 10 over. Decided to do early resolution (you meet with the crown and plead guilty to the "lesser charge" of 10 over. renewal for insurance came 1 month later, up 15/mth for (I assume) 3 years that it stays on your insurance record. you...

    Re-use of barely used oil?

I'm not saying to pour your oil back in with metal shavings. I have yet to see dust win over steel or aluminum. Cover gasket won't take more than about 2 hours on most bikes, put some plastic wrap over it if you're worried about dust (I wouldn't even bother). As for oil being used 150km or...
