The correct way to hold the handlebars is towards the outside....away from the motorcycle. No one teaches you this but it makes sense because of vectors and parabolic velocity. Also think of the wind drag as opposed the the friction co-efficient between your hand and the grip. The kinetic energy...

I got the deltran tender jr. plus and it has always worked and worked well, was and I think it still is $30....so you can spend a little more and get the "best" or spend $30 and get something that does what it's supposed to....ur call.
