    Barclays Premier League 2011-12 Thread

Arsenal is my club. So you won't be hearing much from me for a while. Sigh.

    Custom Throttle cables

A just to add, I bought one of those universal cables, not same supplier though. It's not good. Maybe with one of those special cable lubing things it'll be better, but you can feel the friction. I lubed it up as good as I could, but it never felt smooth. I read similar reviews before purchase...

    Custom Throttle cables

With zero previous experience, YouTube, a propane torch and silver soder, I was able to make a seemingly solid set from a cable that came with a bag of loose nib/tip things. Sodering the tips and all was the easy part. The correct length (I changed my bars at the same time) is the part I found...

    Vintage Japanese

I've had my 69 CB350 in at Rosey Toes a couple times. There another gent there, name escapes me, grey hair, ball cap, who has a long history with old British and Japanese bikes. He doesn't work there much, but he's the man to get there. Each time with him i feel pays for itself as he's always...

My bike "too small" for highway?

I currently ride a 69 CB350 on a regular basis, sometimes for hours on end. No problem, just keep that left hand mirror in mind and all is good. The surprise of a semi next to you is far worse than the wind. It can easy be dealt with when anticipated. Be patient, I simply can't accelerate fast...

Something that will help you stay alive this season.

I appreciate this thread. Regardless of the specific technique, and no matter where you ride, we all must assume cars don't see you until we get some sort of indication that they do. Everybody has their own definition of defensive driving. But at the end of the day, our lives are in the hands of...

    Riding Mexico

That sound like an excellent trip. Would love more info when you have the time. Just more general as id be just renting a bike and heading off with a general route around a week or 10 days. I prefer guideless as i like getting lost. How much were the bikes? Are finding places to stay a day at a...

    Riding Mexico

As somebody who is curious to learn about experiences riding in Mexico and the region in general (as riding through all countries interest me), I'd like to thank the small handful of people in this thread that have responded as such. As for the other 90% of conversation however, are extremely...

    Motor-Biking in South-East Asia

I did Laos in April. I've also done Vietnam and Thailand. http://www.vimeo.com/23507858 Laos is really easy, less populated, much more rural and developing. You don't have an ocean however..

Back from an incredible solo motorcycle trip in Laos.

Hey there! How exciting.. you'll have the time of your life. To answer your questions. 1. Jules (although that is actual not his name, that's his sons name which I didn't learn until I got there) does respond to emails and requests, but yes, I recall there were a few times where it took...

Back from an incredible solo motorcycle trip in Laos.

I did bring my international license, but it was not required. I certainly didn't need a local license. It's pretty hassle free. I did hand over my passport before taking off with the motorcycle. (I had a photocopied version that worked fine for hotels/guesthouses/etc. I was also never once...

Back from an incredible solo motorcycle trip in Laos.

Hrm.. that's a really difficult question for me to answer, but I would would not hesitate to say that I would feel it's safer in Laos than in Thailand for example. Not taking in account traffic or anything (which would be much worse in Thailand). However, at the end of the day, I think it's all...

Back from an incredible solo motorcycle trip in Laos.

Thanks Bob. I shot it with the Panasonic Lumix GH2 with two lenses, a 20mm 1.7 (amazing) and the 14-42mm it came with (not so amazing, but has stabilization). The best option out there, in my opinion, for SLR quality image but without the weight and size that usually had to come with that.

Back from an incredible solo motorcycle trip in Laos.

I'll answer what I can. A little context. Although I believe this is certainly a trip anyone can do that's a smart rider and no-fuss traveler, I should add that I lived in Thailand for two years, and have visited South-East Asia many times. Although I had been in Laos before, it was only in...

Insurance on bikes that are 30 + years old

Same here. Dalton Timmis (who is broker for Jevco) insures my 1960 CB350. No of the big companies would even touch it.

Back from an incredible solo motorcycle trip in Laos.

Hi.. more than happy to answer questions as motorcycling is Laos (I feel) is really affordable, easy and very rewarding. I don't really have any offroad motorcycling experience, and although there were certainly times when I was a bit freaked out (steep mountain dirt roads), I was never afraid...
