Motorcyclist critically hurt in North York crash

Peter was a friend and colleague. He opened my eyes to so much about the human body. His heart and laugh were as big as his muscles. I'm in shock.

    electric water heater woes

I'd stick with the regular size (40 gal). Two typical wattages is 3000 and 4500. The lower one will use less electricity but take longer to heat. YMMV.

knee down all day, do your legs get tired?

Which muscles do you think this targets specifically?

My hand is useless, will it get better??

Your other posts imply you have small hands. Sounds like you were chronically extending your thumb to keep it on the grip while reaching for the clutch with your fingers. Is it still in an extended position?

Buy Scala G4 or wait for G9?

Not sure about Scala, but the SMH-10 is firmware updatable. Jog dial works great with the thickest of gloves. Only quibble I've had is the mounting clamp for earbuds is rather flimsy and broke at the jack.

    Are Unions done?

Nothings perfect. As long as people are involved, so will their self-interests, emotions, and short-comings. You can have the same petty politics without a union.

    Are Unions done?

Do you feel the same way about lockouts?

    Are Unions done?

Certification of a union requires 50%+1 votes of the workers. Chief stewards and above are elected by their members. Union constitutions are ratified by union member vote. Unless arbitrated, members vote on contracts and whether to strike. Workers can and do get fired. It's up to the company...

    Are Unions done?

I'm surprised how many people are against democracy in the workplace, and think, without the countervailing force of collective bargaining, they will continue to have the labour protections they have today. One needs only to observe what the 40 year assault on unions in the US has done for...

Heated jacket liner OR thick leather jacket?

Heated jackets are great on long rides, especially going from stop and go traffic to the highway.

    Stone to the rad!

Update: After an unsuccessful search for a used rad, I took it to a shop where it was epoxied and pressure tested. After about 1000k, no leaks. 85.00 + tax.

    Stone to the rad!

Can anyone think of a downside to a rad guard? If not, why wouldn't all bikes have one?

    Stone to the rad!

Apologies for the micro-pics. Iphone re-sized them before uploading. Taking rad to shop today. They work on aluminum rads with some sort of epoxy then pressure test. It's a pinhole leak. You can barely see the stream. Rad guard is on the "next purchase" list!

    Stone to the rad!

No, not a 4:20 saying. Took a stone to my radiator last week. New rad is 800.00, parts only. Rad shop says about 135.00 if they can repair it. Anyone else have this happen?

    How much for welding gear?

MIG welding aluminum is fairly straightforward. You will need a spool mounted gun as you can't push aluminum like you can with steel. How much are you willing to spend?

I thanked the Mayor, did you??

I don't think cancelling the Transit City plan after 7 years and 137million dollars, along with 1.3 billion in contracts merits a thankyou note.

    Scala G4, worth it?

Here's why I don't call them "perfect": Background noise cancellation is poor or non-existent. The Sena also has trouble managing dual BT connections. My iPod touch disconnects repeatedly. The only way around it is to plug it into the headset directly. While this has also solved the poor BT...
