SIU investigation of motorcycle running from cops..

No, just a useless reference. Simply put, do you really think that your distinctions are valid? What lies between the passionless, value-seeking commuter and the obsessive? This notion of a 'biker' that you propose (the pinnacle of which is driving an SUV?) is mostly North American. It describes...

SIU investigation of motorcycle running from cops..

[/I] What complete and utter twaddle. Do you have the same misty-eyed adoration for all sub-groups in a culture that lose any sense of proportion? ("You part-time supporters don't get it. We are Millwall. We HAD to cripple him.")

    hand signal?

You will find that gently moving your hand off the grip does absolutely nothing to your trajectory or stability. But when you're comfortable. Nice bike, eh? https://rideapart.com/articles/important-motorcycle-wave

SIU investigation of motorcycle running from cops..

I'm not sure you mean that. I advocate the idea of police as members of the community who are able to judge and encouraged to do so. Why use the legal cudgel without carefully assessing the other factors involved? (Does the trespasser have insight into what they did and why they should not have...

    Prince Edward County

How unbelievably awful. (Eighty-three? I had assumed drunk, but it was worse than that.) RIP and speedy recovery to all.

What is your longest ride? Km / Time

Wow. I thought scenic route to Montreal (about 750kms?) was impressive on a CBR250R. Did you have arse-replacement surgery afterwards?

    Niagara Scenic run

Just to note my interest in any similar future rides. Unfortunately I opted to do Father's Day stuff on Saturday and ride on Sunday.

    Chrysler 300 Roadrage

[COLOR=#000000] How can you tell the difference? What if it was an innocent act of stupidity? A calculated risk by an experienced driver? A seemingly hazardous move due to a road factor you are not aware of? But are you confusing survival with getting even? Seeking revenge after the fact...

Sport bike riders, I have questions for you!

Intriguing, Dresden... Some sort of weird reverse psychology? Subliminal messaging? Or sober second thought?

Sport bike riders, I have questions for you!

    1. Yes, but it is unusual and easily avoided. Also, not the end of the world as the tire will quickly regain traction if you have just hit a small bit of debris. Anything bigger you will have seen well in advance. 2. Alcohol, speed, no training, compounded by poor gear. Lots on the Web about...

Buyer backed out of bike sale hours before delivery... Deposit debate?

What is the point of a deposit if it is not going to be honoured? You are already allowing him to breach the contract of sale: he can pay the agreed penalty ($500). The buyer is in reality asking you to give him some of your money. Say no (and watch him take the bike after all).

    Is ramping illegal?

I don't think Rob says anything about full lean or knee-dragging, just butt off seat. And by that he probably means slid over a half cheek or less. So he has his centre of gravity moved over, bike not leaned as much so maintaining traction, and thus better capable of dealing with the unexpected...

    ABS Question

I would say that any time you "mash" the brakes the ABS should start. I never activated it on my CBR250RA but I did once on my CB500X--and at a level of braking I am sure I reached on the 250. So the ABS on the 500 series might kick in earlier. When it did activate on the 500 I felt very stable...

Copy of the M Test (M2X) checklist!

I just passed at Metro East (Lawrence ave. East). The route was right on Lawrence, right into a residential/shopping area, out of there, up the DVP, off the first exit, back down the DVP to Lawrence and back to the drive centre. There were plenty of hazards: Lawrence buses (change lanes if...

Honda CB500X -Anybody have any reviews or thoughts on this bike

Good point. Perhaps its the top-heaviness of the v-strom that made it feel less wieldy. Or my inexperience with larger bikes. Regardless, the 3 grand (iirc) in savings was a significant factor, though I spent ages looking for a good used v-strom. Btw--no regrets, just pining because the versys...

Honda CB500X -Anybody have any reviews or thoughts on this bike

The 500x is great value for money and does everything quite well. I commute daily and do long trips every other weekend. Handles stop and go traffic, freeways, and windy roads with equal aplomb. The competitors were versys and v-strom. Both great bikes but more expensive and much heavier so not...
