This morning (June 20th) a little after 5:30am on the 401 eastbound in Toronto somewhere, a girl on a white cbr125r passed me in my cage while I was doing 120km/h! Way to keep that throttle pinned!
I was referring to the power delivery. The 600rr felt like the throttle was on/off, while the 1000rr I could control very precisely. Probably to do with the gearing. Also, I was the first person to take the 600rr out, so it might have been a little cold which could have added to that on/off...
You probably had the full metal part of the pump completely in the gas tank, right? The pump clicks off when the gas reaches the tip of the pump, so next time just pull out a little more. I usually have the tip of the pump slightly below the gas cap, and can see the gas flowing into the tank.
Glad you're ok OP! That was scary close! Not much you could have done once you saw them in your mirrors except gun it and make a right turn, maybe? I'm sure it was so fast, and it's not something you expect to happen, so you pretty much stare in your mirrors wondering WTF is going on! I hope...

Somewhat limited in my knowledge but I would suggest you try to surprise your muscles with different exercises. Avoid using your usual machines and opt for the different one.
