On a 2010 Ninja 250. First time round for me. I really like it so far. Maybe in another season or 2 I will think about upgrading. Probably to a sport touring like a V-Strom. Till then, I'm having fun tossing this one around. Too bad there aren't too many twisties around.
Practice around the parking lot. I found a gap in the concrete barriers leading into a shipping/receiving area for a warehouse. There was no traffic there so I went up/down a few times to get a feel for the bike and how it shifted. Then it was into rush hour traffic. I rode from McCowan/Sheppard...
You may want to have that clutch and gearbox checked. In comparison to the CBR125's @ RTI, I have had no issues finding 1st or Neutral on the Ninja. Perhaps an adjustment to the cable is required.
If the jacket has provisions for armor, then they may not allow it. Better have a backup plan. The irony is that a regular denim/leather jacket suffices. If you have one, take it as well. Same goes with the boots. If you have more than one pair, take it just in case. And take heed to xflying's...
Take your gear to the classroom session. Make sure it is acceptable. They are fussy about this. One lady was not allowed to take the course as her riding jacket was missing the back armor.
Have fun on the course. I did mine with RTI in Oakville. Try every style of bike they have. They will encourage you to do so. One bit of info: if you plan to wear a riding jacket, make sure all the armor is in place. Even the back armor. A lady on my course was not allowed to do it as she did...
FWIW Legend, when I picked up my 2010 3 weeks back, it was in a plaza (4800 Sheppard East) and I was a bit nervous. Tried it in the parking lot and I was pleasantly surprised how easy a ride it was. Pulled out of there and rode it to Brampton.
Welcome to the forum.
I am waiting for the 60 days to hand in my papers for my M2. Riders Plus just needs to know that you have done the training by way of faxing your certificate or as an email attachment. So you could still get insurance while on M1.
Welcome. I think you have the wrong forum however. You may want to look at the Dealers/Vendors link at the top of the page. This area is for new riders.
