Meloche Monnex lets me pay in 12 payments!

Never been offered a 12 payment plan from tDMM. But I've been happy with them - they now handle my bike, car and home. I tried them for bike ins. 7 years ago, and they were pricing me through the roof at over 2400$. Lowest I could find for years was Riders Plus at around 1100$. TDMM was...

    Brampton Powersports

Totally agree. If you can't serve customers, don't open; dont waste people's time. The solution presented by BPS essentially says "sorry we wasted your time and gas, but if you'll waste some more, we'll make it up to you". MAKE IT UP TO HIM FIRST!! SHIP IT TO HIM!!! Really... BPS is just...

Late season ride on the North Shore of Lake Superior

Marathon to Thunder Bay -- beautiful ride. A long time to get there, but really worth it. My advice would be to stay in Marathon, go to TBay, come back in afternoon, do it again the next day. Seemed like a shame to spend a couple days getting there, and then to only do it once.

    High school acquaintance 'turning bad'

Many of you may recall this story (it's still an entertaining clip): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPKlrZ_1KJA It's the one where the Toronto optician Adam Plimmer was trying to assault CityNews reporter Peter Silverman from around 2007. I went to high school with Plimmer. Seemed okay 20...

Wow. That is really low. What a piece of work. Sorry you got taken by someone who qualifies for 'scum of the earth' awards. In our society there are a lot of them, unfortunatly. But if they choose to sell something, I'd hope that most would choose to do so honestly, and in an ethical...

    Suzuki of Newmarket

Buddy of mine bought a bike from them in 2008 at the bike show. No one could top that price. I went with him to pick it up and was very picky, knowing their reputation. But many aren't as critical when picking up thier ride and wind up with no oil in the engine, etc. anyways, with regards...

    Amsoil Motor oil

I'm no expert and oil threads are incredibly long. I used to use Amsoil; switched largely due to cost. But talking to a mechanic at Edge Performance a couple years ago, he wasn't a fan because he found that a lot of the transmissions he wound up replacing, doing extensive service on; were in...

    Shadow 750 ACE

Its a v-twin; many of them are geared similarily. Yamaha's cruisers tend to shift to 5th at 70-75kms/hr, for example. A nice bike; and I'm aware of how many people like them. Power is lacking too much for my liking; not that I have loads on my bike

    Earplugs, In-Ear Headphones or Other?

Yeah, I'll definitly concede that riding with phones instead of plugs gives me a lot more wind noise and that ringing in my ears doesn't go away for days sometimes, but riding with tunes is so much better than without, I'll live with it.

    Bike Warm up

Never really saw the need beyond a minute or so. . . Start, full choke, 10 seconds. Idle, half choke, 1 minute, gloves and bucket on. No choke, ride gentle for first few minutes. See ya.

    Earplugs, In-Ear Headphones or Other?

I hear that. But I adapted. Once upon a time I started to ride with earplugs. It was so quiet, I found myself surprised to check my shoulder only to find cars right there (couldn't hear them). But I became more careful, and now am quite adept at riding with plugs. As for headphones, I...

Looking for a bike lift and stands for a V-star 1100

i did buy the crappy tire lift a while ago, and found the bike was rather unstable on it, so I took it back. But I've got two new tires and need to take the wheels off. So, does anyone know of a good jack that will work with my V-star? I found that the Crappy tire version's supports just...

    Scooter people, pls 'splain.

Well, to explain, when the bugs hit the hard plastic, they splat & dry on impact. But when they hit my flesh, the bigger ones might sting a bit, but they mostly just bounce off.

    Suggestions: overnighter route

Looking to head out tomorrow and come back saturday at some point. What I could use are route ideas, doesn't matter where; though Ive done 507, monks etc. To deAth. I like scenery and turns. I also hate camping and love hotels or motels with no roaches. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks everyone.
