gas pouring out of carbs = float issue, your floats are not sealing and gas is overflowing. Unless your comfortable with removing the carbs/working on them I would let someone that knows what they are doing take care of it.

Yes get the rivet tool, change the sprockets. Loosen the front sprocket before taking the chain off :) I just lay my old chain next to the new chain and count and cut the links, you can see how much your old chain stretched.
