I love the X-grip, holds my iPhone very well. But i do have a rubberized case, and I think that helps holding it. I usually hold it there just to charge it, and use the GPS once and a while.

those are paper oil funnels, seems dumb but pretty damn convenient. Beer is beside the toolbox marked liquid motivation, these funnels are too small to assist with that task tho.
