Upgrade to an FZ6 as my second motorcycle

Another good thing I thought of with the FZ6 was the height of the seating position. You end up being taller than most cars which helps with line of vision on the road ahead when in traffic.

    Signal Lights

Rizoma signals are smaller than stock ones, bright, and expensive. It's a good alternative to flushies.

    Ventilated Kevlar Jeans?

Haven't heard of ventilated jeans, but I do ride in my commute with a pair of Joe Rocket Alter Ego 2.0, with zipper opening from knee to *** to knee. What I find is that the wind really flows, and I haven't felt hot in my pants while riding (except when I pass by nice summer "scenary" ;)). I...

    2011 kawasaki ninja zx6r

Non-trolling response: I use DuPont Teflon Chain-saver, nice goopey chain lube. Switched to that from the Multi-purpose which was a bit more runny. You can buy it from Lowes for like $8 a can which is much cheaper than chain lube from bike stores. I find I only need to clean it every 1000km...

    Thumbs up - Motorcycle-Superstore.com

I've had good experience with them as well, though I do find that shipping of stuff that aren't "in stock" (i.e., "usually ships in 1 business day" or more) may take longer than expected, as they actually order those parts in and re-ship. Also, sometimes they take up to 1-2 days to verify...

    Yoshi RS-5, silencer or no?

Just got this installed on my 600RR (sans silencer), love the sound but heard it gets loud as it breaks in. Anyone got experience with this pipe or have had issues getting pulled over without the silencer? Thx, A

Upgrade to an FZ6 as my second motorcycle

FZ6 was my second bike. Loved it, great for street riding, insurance was cheap (for me). Tons of torque, gets fast quickly, easy to work on without the fairing. The bike is heavier than the standard SS, but makes it nice and planted for highway rides. Exhaust would be a b!tch as they're...

    WARNING About Buying HONDA Motorcycles

Well, to be fair the observation is correct, this situation is partial cause of some Honda Powerhouses closing down (aside from Honda Powerhouse model being a stupid idea in the first place). If there isn't a Honda dealer near you, service is gonna be really really far away, or more expensive...

    Kawasaki Ninja 400 R

+1 Analogy: Honda Civic is an awesome car, for most people the 140~200hp of the new models are sufficient. But you can't say it keeps up with the acceleration rate of a 300HP car like the Subaru STI/Mitsu Evo or 400HP car like the M3.

Have you *seen* their parking lots? Especially ones with gas stations? ;)

Being deliberately screwed with? Normal or no?

It is often annoying, but cagers will assume because you're on a sport bike they expect you to break speeding law. Many a times I'd be casually cruising on the highway at speed of traffic, around 120kph or so, when idiots in a cage would see me, and speed up behind me, honk, and swirve...

why does my bike get better range on 91 gas?

91 from which gas station? Shell has 0 ethanol in their V-Power gas which could explain this. Then again, this topic has been beaten to death here. Many people (including myself) feel that if your bike isn't rated for anything more than 87 putting in premium gas is just a waste of money. My...

Buying a bike with a lean on it...

I bought a bike with a lien before. The guy owed Honda Finance basically the sale price of the bike. I made a draft out to Honda Finance, went with him to an appointment pre-arranged with a dealer, who received the draft in good order and gave me a copy of the receipt, stating that they have...

can an average non biker tell the difference between different brand of SS?

I'm surprised no one mentioned that chicks hate chicken strips, loves people who can do wheelies, and squid in your flip flops! Chicks also rate the size of your ***** by the size of your bike. :laughing8:

    Riders tucked at 80km/h ...

I tuck when going over 100 on the DVP on windy days, help with the crosswinds. Speaking of SS riders, I never understood why half of them ride with their left arm rested on their left thigh... I've riden hours on the highway or over an hour in stop-and-go on my CBR and have not ever felt any...

    Looking for Experienced Rider

Honda also has a 250cc CBR now, but as a brand new model you won't find much deals anywhere on it. Good option though, if you don't want to ride the Honda Civics of bikes (the Ninja 250, that is). ;)

    Kawasaki Ninja 400 R

You didn't mention where/how you ride. A 400 will probably feel similar or easier on the wrist if you commute, but on the highway you will probably notice it's not quite a torquey when you need it. My first bike was an EX500, I quickly moved to Yamaha FZ6 as my second bike and loved that jump...
