Carb bikes need manual operation of air/gas delivery. You need to use the choke. FI is a completely automated system. FI is a lot easier to use because it's a start and go type deal like your car. With carbureted bikes you'll have to adjust a couple things until it's warmed up. No big deal...

Smell the stuff on the ground. Most of the time you can tell if it's gas vs coolant or oil.

For sport bikes 250 is a good starting place. 250ccs for a cruiser is too little if you're average sized or larger. The power isn't there like it is with the sport bikes. On the other hand if you're willing to spend a couple grand on a starter bike to learn on and then sell in a couple...

Mine went up $300 from $1900 to $2200. I currently reside in Brampton, so obviously my rates are higher to begin with. But a $300 increase with no change with regards to my license is kind of steep.
