I just got a Terry's seat a couple months ago. The stock seat on my '07 DL650 was destroying my tailbone. The Terry's seat continued the destruction for about a week or so, and then I finally broke it in. Now I LOVE my Terry's seat.
Strongly recommended!
I'll probably be picking up an EarthX lithium battery for the winter bike in a few weeks. I'm told snowmobilers are running those batteries without a problem. I'll report back about how well it handles subzero. :)
The gloves and the jacket liner really help with winter riding, as does wool underclothes. I used to use Widder heated gloves until they exited the market. Warm 'n Safe was well reviewed on ADVrider, so that's what I'm running with now.
Ultimate Touring gloves...
The last 24 hours have made for some awesome riding, though I admit I need to sort out a solution to keep my toes warmer after 30+ minute highway runs.
What's your objection to the tire pressure monitor? Purely cost, or are there functional negatives to it?
I wouldn't say my TPM is fantastic, but it is a handy data point and I'm glad I have it. I admit though I ride K1300S, not an enduro with potential tire adventures.
Nope. I suppose may have been a hint of salt to the bottom edges of my pants, and my boots were a mess. A handy snowbank helped clean the boots off.
I know at some point, especially after a not-rush-hour commute in, my pants will probably end up being soaked in salty spray as they have in the...
If there was less than an inch of slush, I didn't even notice it. Getting out of the ruts in that picture involved a bit of sliding around and possibly spraying gawking pedestrians in slush, but then I was back into the inch of slush and it barely even felt like wet concrete. I did over an...
A problem with roundabouts in Ontario is that using one seriously benefits from the driver doing a left shoulder check.. Ontario drivers haven't been practicing any kind of shoulder check skill in decades, if ever.
I use Kinek to get things shipped to either Detroit or Lewiston, depending on my travel plans. I don't know how well CBI and USAdress work, but Kinek is astonishingly simple.
Alternatively, you could use a service like http://www.opas.com/. They actually receive your stuff, then reship it to...
I can only speak to Budds and Wolf. I bought from Budds.
Budds can get quite busy. When I called in June to get my (late) 20k service, they told me there was an 8 week backlog on service. I took the bike to Wolf instead, as they only had a 4 week backlog (though they give priority to...
These are great wind-blocking covers for gloves when you're doing highway in winter: http://www.aerostich.com/clothing/gloves/rain-glove-covers/aerostich-triple-digit-covers.html
I run with Warm&Safe Ultimate Touring heated gloves which are fine to about -5c for less than an hour on the...

The only problem with heated gear is the tendency to drain the bike's batteries. Bumpstarting a bike at below zero suuuuuucks.
I'm toying with getting the mod for the DL650 to switch off one of the low beams when I'm stuck in traffic in heated-clothing weather, just to shave a few amps. Gotta...
Huh! I didn't realize my TKC80's were M+S before. Hot damn. Just looked at them (bought in 2012), and sure enough, they've got M+S on them. Well, that explains why they were so awesome on ice.
