    Carb cleaning while you wait?

Carb cleaning while you "wait" ? = Seafoam or equivalent. Works for me. Gatekeeper, you're scaring me ! :)

    Surviving the wind?

I live in Hamilton and the Skyway bridge is my only "link" to the outside world! :) I learned to live with the wind (and it seems to be getting windier every year!). The key is as rye said, "stay loose" and don't put a kung-fu grip on the handlebars.

    "air cooled" motorcycle owners? speak-up!

It's hard not to like the classic lines of a Sportster, and it's a little known fact that they're amoung the most low-maintenance and reliable motorcycles ever made!

    "air cooled" motorcycle owners? speak-up!

I can tell you that the lifespan of a late model (1991-2003) Honda CB750 Nighthawk is well beyond 50,000 km. I have come across many with 100,000+ km without any issues. In fact, there was one on kijiji last week with 105,000 km and still in "excellent" condition (and it sold!). :)

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

This one made my morning! http://www.kijiji.ca/v-sport-touring/oshawa-durham-region/1991-honda-nighthawk/589701668?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true At the same time, I found this gem, for less...

    What's my bike worth?

4.5 to 5K depending on condition and quality of the paint job. Typically, 'custom' paint work detracts from the value. Because spring fever is in full tilt, you may get the upper end of the range. As noted above, list it for $5500 to $5800 'obo'.

    Almost got Turkey'ed!!

One flew just inches over my car on Hwy 407 north of Mississauga last month... I was quite surprized to see such a large bird take flight. Ugly mofos to.

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot? 30-06 from a lightweight rifle with a skinny recoil pad is going to hurt... :) 30-06 from a heavier military carbine will absorb more of the recoil. poodleshooter's aren't allowed to weigh in! ;)

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot? I hear the Mosins really kick. I still have a bruise from my range day two weeks ago where I was shooting my Sako Bavarian Carbine in 30-06. The next time I plan to shoot more than a few rounds with it, I'm wearing my recoil pad that goes over ny...

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot? They sell them here at Princess Auto in Hamilton. I was tempted to buy a few, but I just don't have the space. On the topic of 105mm artillery shells, I have a former military friend that used to polish the spent casings and make lamps out of them. Quite...

Current Gas Prices - No one else concerned??

I will chime in and say that I get about the same mileage as rockerguy... about 511km per 40 L tank of gas. I am not impressed, at all. My next car is going to be a Genesis... probably the "economical" 280hp V6. I don't need a 485hp turbo charged V8. :)

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot? For those that like old... here's my antique status Swiss model 1882 service revolver. This revolver was part of a batch of 100 revolvers that was delivered to the KMV (Swiss military arms depot) in Bern, Switzerland on Thursday, October 3, 1895. She's...

    Gun smithing - looks fun

There's a huge difference between a real gunsmith and a smitty! The best gunsmiths, people you can actually entrust your valuable firearms with, are in extremely high demand, are few and far between (a dying art), and are essentially unavailable for smaller jobs. This necessitates becoming...

Current Gas Prices - No one else concerned??

I budget $120 per week in gas, works out to almost $500 per month in gas. Add my average monthly #407 (one-way) charge of $350, and I'm at $850 per month in travelling costs, not including wear and tear, and regular servicing every 1.5 months! lol BTW, I have a 2011 Elantra... and she's not...
