I've used a "Battery Tender" maintainer for years. They work great, just "set and forget". My experience is that I get at least double the life out of my batteries since using one.
I'm 6'1" and the most comfortable bike I ever owned was a Honda ST1100. My inseam is 32" and the bike fit me like a glove, especially after I installed the Corbin seat. All-day thousand-kilometer rides were not a problem. I also used it as a daily commuter.
I ride a XR650L now which is a bit...
TDI as in "VW" TDI?
VW may be the best choice in the "affordable diesel" category at the moment but I wouldn't reco that manufacturer to anyone.
My experience with V-dubs is that while they are a fantastic vehicle to drive their reliability is dismal after 3-4 years of ownership. I've owned...
I'll second that...
I used to subscribe to Cycle Canada as well but found I was picking up and reading Mojo cover-to-cover while the latest CC issue sat and collected dust. I'm not saying CC is crap, it's just the types of articles they have are far less relevant and interesting to me as Mojo...
Not likely; thread probably got too old and dropped off. 4chan has a set number of postings per subgroup, as new posts are added old ones drop off. Posting a reply to a post will bump it back up to the top so it's only the posts that have not had recent replies that get deleted.
BTW, nice to...
Hi All,
Has anyone tried out Heidenau tires on their dually? My XR650L needs new rubber and I like the look of the Heidenau K60's but can't find much in the way of reviews.
Currently I have Pirelli Scorpion MT90's and while they are fantastic on dry pavement they are so-so in the dirt and...
Hi All,
I picked up a new-to-me 95 XR650L Honda on the weekend. Before I hit the road I'm looking to do a full front-to-back service on it and had a question regarding the greasing of the rear suspension linkage. I'm delighted to see all the joints have Zerk grease fittings so it's a simple...
Hi All,
I'm looking for a 650cc class dual-purpose bike in reasonable shape. I plan on using it for light commuting and the odd trail ride in the Gannie.
I can pay up to $2500 for the right bike but if you have a non-runner you are willing to part with I'm not against a fixer-upper either as...
Which Golden Star are you referring to? The one on Jane just north of the 401?
I've been there and my impression of that place is that their sanitation leaves a lot to be desired.
Zets is still #1 for me but with all the posts regarding Burgers Priest I'm going to have to check them out...
I've tried most of the burger joints on this list but my fav hasn't been mentioned yet.
Zet's on Airport road makes something called a "Zet's burger" that other burgers bow down to. They are open 24/7 and cater to the Pearson Airport workers crowd.

Hi ahoy11,
Ask away. There is no harm in asking the question, especially if you are new.
Sometimes folks forget what it was like to be a noob and assume that everyone is an expert at searching the old threads, either that or they are using the old "multi-thread" reply as a way to build...
I can't believe no one has mentioned this already...
Step 1) Use short bursts on an impact gun to loosen the caliper bolts, then pull it away the rotor,
Step 2) Attach a tube to the brake bleeder nipple, put the other end in a container
Step 3) Loosen the brake bleeder valve
Step 4) Use small...
I’m seeing a bunch of contradictory advice over the cleaning & lubing of O-ring chains and thought I would try and set things straight. The care and feeding of an O-ring chain is very different from the “spray the bejeesus out of it with WD-40 & chain lube” treatment for non-O-ring chains...
I can't speak to the Ninja 250 specifically but unless it's a wicked cold day and you are not using a synthetic engine oil even two minutes is unnecessary. 5-10 minutes of full-choke idling will carbon-foul your spark plugs, not a good idea.
I've always started my cold bike with choke, then put...
I read in another post that some states in the US have amended their laws making it legal for motorcycles to treat a stop light as a stop sign after a certain amount of time has passed.
Does anyone have any details of which states this is and how long the delay is before it is legal for the...
Locking a bike up is a great idea but there's not much you can do if the thief is determined. About 10 years ago a buddy of mine went down to his chained, locked, and alarmed Honda ST100 to find that it had been stripped naked. The dirtbag thieves simply left the chain alone, didn't mess with...
He was racing to pick up his GF who was flying in to Amsterdam and he had stayed too long in Southern Gerrmany (Munich?)...he was awake for about 20 hours straight trying to make up the time; it was about 1:00 AM when he fell asleep. He was an idiot and should have known better - his father...
