Bye Bye Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!! That is a really interesting point! The Feds and the press making a huge deal out of $90k in senate expenses, the past history of the Fords, yet our provincial govt just spent $590M for nothing! Go figure. . .

Bye Bye Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!! Can they detect drug use from hair samples or is that a CSI myth? If so I would love to see our mayor asked to provide one. But we all know the response anyway.

Bye Bye Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!! What's that saying again ? "Those who live in glass houses..." That is the big question now. Will they sue the globe which is, by the way, a national newspaper.

Words people mispronounce or misuse that drive me bonkers

Two that I see a lot in business: 1. "It's a mute point" 2. Beginning a sentence with "in order to..." 99% of the time you can remove "in order" with absolutely no loss of generality.

    electric guitar

The Roland is a really nice little amp. I don't have one but I've played with one quite a bit. I would recommend getting one of these small amps with a couple of effects. That way you don't have to worry about buying pedals right away. I have the line 6 - it's pretty good I also have the fender...

    electric guitar

I've been taking lessons at twelfth fret on danforth for a few years now. They have quite a few teachers for just about any style you wish to learn. You should check their website if you're interested. As for guitars, I recently got one of the cheaper PRS ones - the SE (they are made in Korea)...

Like watches? post a pic of your watch, and a pic of your favourite watch

I got the deep blue day night 65 t-100 the other day. Nicely built, stainless, seiko auto movement and the tritium lighting is pretty cool- will glow for at least the next 12 years! http://www.deepbluewatches.ca/daynight-65-tubes-t100-.html

    ------> certain forum members

Exactly. Two thoughts come to mind here: self control and knowing your limitations. Words to live by. Whether your riding or just life in general.

    Post Your Favourite Lyrics

Just heard the song Big Hard Sun by Indio or Eddy Vedder the other day and while I won't post the lyrics, I always thought they were masterfully written with imagery and metaphor. I've always admired people who can master artistic writing that way. I'm just a "here are the facts" type.

Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Just saw Oblivion as well. Story line has been done before in other settings, but this one has some clever twists. And while I'm not the biggest fan of Mr Cruise, I think he hit this one out of the park. It was very entertaining and a must see on the big screen!

    Describe Your BEST Vacation

You mentioned that you will miss the south of Italy but not too far south from Rome you will find Naples, the amalfi coast with Capri and sorrento. They are worth the drive. As well if you decide to go inland on your way north from Rome you will find the city state of San Marino, Perugia, and...

Let's go post your favourite movie quotes...

A couple from Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove: "All the radio gear is out, including the CRM-114. I think the auto-destruct mechanism got hit and blew itself up" and "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here, this is the war room!"

    ducati monster review for dummies

My Monster (996) is good for about 130 - 140 km before fillup. Yes, its a gas guzzler, or put another way, I'm good for just over an hour of (relatively) spirited riding or about an hour and a half normal cruising (which is about as much as my bad back can take before it needs a stretch).

Top 10 Sci-Fi films of all time

Perhaps Alien? and while not everybody's cup of tea 2001: A Space Odyssey is classic. I also always enjoy watching The day the earth stood still...finally, another great book and movie was The Andromeda Strain.

If street parking pay attention to "no parking" times if posted (rush hour etc). Otherwise you will still be ticketed and or towed!

    Angry Hornet = nearly crashed

This seems to be one of those rights of passage for riders. happened to me many years ago, cruising down the road, visor up and wham! the little bugger gets stuck right at my temple. so what do I do? both hands off the bars and I'm struggling with the strap while the bike is slowing down and...

    Ac furnace parts - Mississauga/Brampton

I lost the start/run cap during a heat wave a couple of years ago. Did not have much choice and I believe it was on the weekend . I just went to an ac service shop and got the cap there - so no service call. Its a common part for failure so they usually have spares. They soaked me though...

    Herniated discs and motorcycle riding

I understand your pain. I've had a traumatic back injury that resulted in a sequestered disc for over 20 years now. The cycle i went through was severe burning pain which finally culminated in a completely numb left leg. I still consider the happiest day of my life was the day the pain...
