    Bike run over by cab!

Personally, I'd go the report and insurance route, no haggling, negotiations or heartache. Had this happen to me when my Duc was 3 weeks old. It too was hit hard-backed over. He wanted to negotiate, trying to convince himself and me that it was "at most a couple of grand". Well, $9,000 later...

Got rear ended in my car at red light.

I agree with the rest, go for the full freight on this one. As a side note, if you go through insurance, watch your insurance rates over the next couple of years. This happened to me some years back- rear ended while stopped at a light. A couple of years later I noticed a significant rise in my...

    2014 Ducati Monster 1200

I have an old traumatic back injury. Long distances? Forget it. My back lasts for about a tank of gas, or an hour, before I need to "stretch it out". So it works good for me at every fillup. Insurance? Just received my quotation this month-full cover=$1,300/yr. Bike is the liquid cooled 2005...

    right turn clyde

I'm not sure if it's HTA or not. But back in the Stone Age when I got my license, I was always taught that one must not change lanes when in an intersection. And left turns stay to the left! its different now?

    Albums that are cool

You mentioned both concept and cool riffs. So I'll throw a couple of more obscure ones into the mix. One of my favourite concept albums is from a little known Brit band called City Boy. They were produced by Mutt Lange and the guitar work and production Is really well done. It's called "the...

    Albums that are cool

Although his later stuff is tired and repetitive (to me anyway), Alan Parsons early stuff was pretty inspirational for the time - Tales of mystery, Pyramids and I Robot. He has a good background having been involved (as producer or engineer) of two of the top albums of history - Let it be and...

Unbelievable World Series ending call (vid)

Bummer way to end the game. But clearly the right call, and even though intent doesn't enter into it, the raising of the legs clinched it for me. That was just wrong!!! Also excellent that the ump caught that immediately before play was completed.

    Grading Roads - any tips

What everybody else has said, light grip etc. One additional piece of advice I found out the hard way, stay back from traffic, I had a truck throw up a loose stone at me on the highway, it hurts!

    Axis vs. Allies

At the end of the war the victors still had the industrial complex in place, largely factories from the thirties. Axis powers, for all intents and purposes, had their industry bombed to pieces. So the rebuild of the economies was such that the axis powers got a new industrial complex in the late...

Do you have a fuel efficient bike?

Holy crap! That's pretty good duty on both engines! As an example my car has about 200k on it and while it runs fine and doesn't burn oil, I can certainly tell that the motor is getting "tired". Any major work or are they still original?

Do you have a fuel efficient bike?

My Ducati s4r gets mileage on par with my car - 2 litre engine. I don't know the exact ltr/100 km, but I do know that I get about 140 km before the fuel light comes on. It's a small tank. Only about 10 bucks to fill. That's mixed riding too - city and highway. I don't look at it as litres per...

Bye Bye Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!! This is starting to get real deep what with smoking crack, cognitive dissonance, relativity and perceptions of reality and all. I'm starting to think its similar to Schrödinger's cat, Ford both smoked crack and didn't smoke crack all at once and the...

Bye Bye Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!! While I do not have intimate knowledge of the Act that provides protection for freedom of speech, I would be very surprised if the definition of "speach" contained in the Act includes throwing items at people. Just sayin...

    Any scotch lovers out there?

Never seen that before, nice color. Hope LCBO brings it back!!! How much is a bottle? And don't forget to give a review here (I prefer the smoothness that a sherry cask imparts on a nice single malt!)

Bye Bye Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

Re: BY By Tommy boy Ford kicked out!! i don't think the media created the illusion of WMDs. It's hard to believe that the US govt would take "media" reports of WMDs. You can blame that one the CIA, Cheney, Rumsfeld and others at the top. After all there have been "media" reports of gas in...

    Why Do You Ride?

Growing up, my two older brothers rode, so for me it was only natural that I start. The only difference back then was they were into the twin cruisers ( you know who) and I gravitated to the inline 4's (and dirt bikes) But what the heck. To each his own. Riding is riding.

Words people mispronounce or misuse that drive me bonkers

I think "hey all" Is tough. I dont think it works but who "all" knows? As for "who's all going", that translates to "who is all going". Which should simply be "who is going".
