I know what you're asking, and yes a Ted safety is generally preferable for the seller. If you are concerned, look up Adrian at ace moto (search the site) as he is very thorough and in this case is a third-party. It will be money well spent.
Also make sure to check your search criteria / region on Kijiji. The default most people check is usually Toronto, but all of the bikes I have purchase have been from outside of the GTA. My latest acquisition was from Yarker and was a hell of a deal, mostly because people didn't want to make the...
I found commuting on a 1986 concours 1000 to be such a tiring lifeless affair that I needed a change as well. I decided to pickup a CBR1100XX black bird, a bike so quick (in my mind) that its entirely wasted commuting down the QEW. I get to ride the bike everyday, but I only get to appreciate it...
Google "Ask a motorcycle thief", it was the best 2 hour read I've had on the subject.
A couple of points:
- A disk lock on the rear is much more effective than on the front, harder for a good thief to swap wheels. More awkward to work on.
- Bring a stubby screwdriver or appropriate hex, remove...
Just wanted to let people know that it's worth their time to send a PM to Sturgess before ordering online or from the states. Very competive costing coming from very knowledgeable staff.
I got into a bind and needed some ultra-quick service, they stepped up and will continue to get my business...
I think there's a few of us on here who spend a good deal of time wheeling and dealing on Kijiji. Just a heads up that my garage was cleaned out earlier this week by some thieving bastards. I suspect it was related to someone who had come over regarding a recent ad on Kijiji.
To those selling...
On rare occasion, the MTO will send letters to both parties asking them to confirm the selling price of the vehicle in question. If you created your own bill of sale, or modified the purchase price, they will get a high price from the seller and the low one from the buyer. If you're going to do...

1983 Honda CB1000F for $8000. Now unless someone can give us all a history lesson on this particular bikes pedigree, I would guess he's asking a tad too much.

Brought a couple of wheels to Adrian for a tire install last night. Beautifully setup shop and clean as a whistle.
I took the dog for a walk while he did the swap, just as he had promised, 1 hour later they were installed, and perfect.
Great guy to deal with, very good prices and very...

OP, if you haven't got an insurance quote for a 600cc SS bike, I think your quandry is probably futile. With a month of riding experience, you may well find that a 600CC bike is too expensive for your to insure anyway making this a moot point.
