+1 missed that sarcasm. I just read the Cycle World review of the 2012 and man this thing sounds like a hoot, but with our traffic laws I don't think it's for me.
South Windsor, right near St. Clair college, went to Massey High School.
Thats a sweet bike you picked up there, I'm very jealous of the suspension and luggage over my Ninja. Great motor for the street on these things. Awesome useable low end power coming from a 250.
Thats the same BMW. Seemed like a nice enough guy but something fishy, bike wouldn't start for us either. Nice KTM though.
Found this thread about R1 shocks on the Versys. Hope it helps.

Oddly I'm originally from Windsor too.
I saw that versys listed on kijiji, great upgrades for the price. Would like more info on the R1 shock if you have any, wonder if it would work on my Ninja.
Was that F800ST in Waterloo by any chance? Blue one? If so I went to see it with a friend today.
Two Wheel Motorsport in Guelph sells Moto Guzzi and they always have a couple grisos in there. They also deal Aprilia now.
I love this color scheme, had this guy in the shopon Monday http://www.twowheelsblog.com/galleria/moto-guzzi-griso-8v-se-my-2010-01/
Carb is a non-issue on the 250, I never had a problem with my 2001 that had sat for years before I got it (I didn't get around to cleaning the carb until about 3 years in and it was fine when I cracked it). You have to use the choke when it's cold, but can shut it off as you're heading down the...
Yah I pay $905/year full coverage on my 2008 Ninja 650R through TD Meloche Monnex (5 years riding, GM, 27). It's a great bike for the street, and cheap as dirt to run (relatively speaking)... But it's no SS I guess if that's what you're looking for.
Got out again yesterday on my 650R for about an hour, busted around to some local dealers and then for a little jaunt on 80km/h roads - there is still a lot of gravel on those roads especially in small towns, but take it slow and you're golden.
Got home and fired up my '79 KZ400 for the first...
I was out yesterday, couldn't take it anymore so I took her for a spin. Stick to major well travelled roads (less crap on them). I think the salt concern is overstated, the bike isn't going to turn into a rust bucket from a bit of salt now and then. I used to ride my 250 whenever it was +1...
Man I don't understand these guys, see it all the time "oh it'll be fine". I always do 4 tie downs minimum and a chock (if available, I have moved many without chocks but with the 4 straps), and sometimes throw another across the seat to make 5 tie downs. Never had a problem this way.
+1 I ended up buying a back protector for wearing on long highway rides, but then found I never wore it because it was just that one extra step between me and the bike. In place I've replaced my in jacket back protector with a CE one, it was cheap so it's probably not the best but its...
In the same vein as this, from my Ninja 650R forum, pretty amazing stuff - shocking how well the system works.
