Beauty Day for a Ride - up to Bancroft through Algonquin, Minden and home...

Glad to hear you had a great ride! Respect the 6AM start! I love hitting the road early, it's honestly my favourite time of day. 9PM bedtime well worth it in my opinion. ;) You'll sleep soundly tonight!

    3 bonus days off

You'd be able to meet me for a 7AM departure from Bowmanville? For Cordova/Deloro I was planning a 320km trip (start and end in Clarington) and it's 5 hours of riding time at posted speed limits. Will you be alright with 400km and 6 hours of saddle time? I start early, to be back fairly early...

    3 bonus days off

I'm off Friday and will be riding (VStrom 650). Either a 7AM start for a Haliburton/Bancroft or Cordova Rd/Deloro Rd ride. Or a 10AM start for a more local loop. I've only done a portion of the Haliburton/Bancroft ride I am planning, and never been on Cordova or Deloro - so it is a bit of...

The rise of new riders and motovlogging

I tried watching a few - complete waste of time. Nothing education, informative, engaging or interesting. If I have a few free minutes there are nearly infinite ways I'd rather spend my time.

    Any Arborists on here?

Contact Toronto Hydro and speak with them first. Some utilities offer to "top" the tree (remove everything within and above the 'limits of approach') which makes removal much easier. If Toronto Hydro doesn't, ask them for "qualified arborists who are approved for working around Toronto Hydro...

    Adopting a dog vs Breeder

OK, I'll bite. How have you been able to discern my negligence based on no information? I expect a one line reply with nothing constructive, try to surprise me. And does your opinion hold more weight than my professional support/consultants (vets, trainers)? Like if they've said everything...

    What's a good first car?

I had a 2008 Mazda 3, engine died at about 280,000km. Very, very little rust. I did see others with rusted trunks though. I'm now driving a 2015 Honda Civic. I miss the Mazda 3.

    Adopting a dog vs Breeder

None taken. I know exactly the type of owner I am. I'd ask you to elaborate, but honesty I don't care. Thanks for your concern, I'll give them both a big hug and kiss for you. :)

    Adopting a dog vs Breeder

I enjoyed your story Zoodles! Thanks for sharing and loved the pics! You're a good owner, get yourself a grumble of pugs! (I just wanted to say grumble of pugs) :)

    Adopting a dog vs Breeder

And if he's not capable of dealing with "issues" he shouldn't be getting a dog. Here are some things I've gone through: Paw lacerations - unknown cause (x2) Chest laceration - barbed wire Stick impaled abdomen - running through forest Stitches & hematoma - attacked by other dog Giardia - from...

    Adopting a dog vs Breeder

There is no right or wrong answer. His logic/reasoning is incorrect though. Even the best breeders with great bloodlines/genetics can produce dogs with health issues. The biggest difference between going to a breeder and adopting is: getting a puppy (with no life experiences) vs. getting a...

    Purchasing a new motorcycle

Forgive my outburst, I was blinded by emotion and not thinking clearly. MacDoc also rides a KLR. Don't listen to me, I'm just here for the pop corn. *high-fives everyone!*

    Purchasing a new motorcycle

A v-strom rider recommending a KLR?! Well I... how... but... err... I'm so overcome with emotions I don't know what to say. Never thought I'd see this day. Do as MacDoc does, not says. Get a v-strom 650! Or do as you're planning, sounds reasonable. You don't need insurance now, if you're...

    Mechanical engineering

I also think Experience > Education Consider taking a 2-3 year college program (that has co-op!) and getting a technician/technologist position. Get an entry level job in your field, and obtain higher education through part time classes. Most good employers will have incentives and programs...

    Mechanical engineering

In my opinion, this is where the jobs and money are at: Energy (powers the world, and everything in it) Transportation Infrastructure (people need to get places every day) Pharmaceutical (most need drugs, and everyone wants a pill to solve their problems) These are the big three that affect...

    Newb Passenger looking for Ride-alongs

Just be careful Ellie. Lots of great and experienced people on here. Also a lot of new and inexperienced people who think they're more knowledgeable and capable than they actually are. Take your car to motorcycle socials and meet people like that. Get to know them, become friends, then...
