We always cross at Windsor to go to the MotoGP at Indy. Twice we've cut through the city just to take a look and someone commented a couple years back that it reminded them of a scene from the Walking Dead! I feel bad for those that have retired and are relying on any municipal/state pensions...
Yep - agree that 11 is boring. Do the loop using 144 one way and 101 (Quebec side) all the way to Temiskaming. I'd use 66 (Ontario) to access/leave 101. I'd def. check on construction before you go though - I've seen miles of 101 and 66 dug up for half a summer!
I'm dating myself a bit (early '80's) but I still can remember the first time that I came across this new technology of stripping the pavement before resurfacing. Back then there was enough warning that even a newbie like me knew that something was coming up. Have to say that I'm very...
I'm heading to Hali on Friday early afternoon. Plan so far is to take 400/11 north to Orillia before heading east for some good twistys. I'd hook up for the first part if timing is right.
I would avoid having one person/team do it all. As a former electrician I can attest to the hack jobs that get buried by johnny-contractor and the fire-fighter side job! And HVAC, if not balanced/done properly will be ineffective. And insist on permits - they are there to protect you the home...
My Dad used to swear by the **** and his vehicles were always very clean. I'll stick to liquid glass myself but I've seen some proof that I might be wasting $$$
I spent 5 or 6 years in Muskoka and was raised further north of that! When you roll into Gravenhurst take the main street (there's a Sunoco right off of 11 with Gold at the first exit) to Muskoka Beach Road. You'll enjoy jamming from 1st to 2nd and back again for about 20 minutes. Fantastic...
I've wrapped my 198S but its still pretty hot when stopped. The guys at Dukes of Cycle are going to re-map it later in the season and say that, among the other benefits, the heat should drop a little.
Just a rant... let him go! But I'll tell you this - I cant wait to get off of my ****ing machine and stretch a little during fill ups! That would have ****** me off as well though.
My car - Audi A4 = Hans -- beater Jetta years ago was Betsy; my now sold '02 954 was referred to as the "bar *****" cause every time you went near it it wanted you to do bad things ;) and..... my latest Duc 1198S is Thumper for obvious reasons.
I believe this to be probably the best thread on GTAM in quite some time. Love the cop moving the dumb-*** over and agree that if they were to focus on fixing this we could sort it out in no time -- look how long it tool the average citizen to "learn" to move over a lane when passing a...
Ron Dennis in Kitchener/Waterloo - great guy and will work everything via email or fax. I work for a company that owns an insurance division and he is still cheaper! And no B.S., ever.
Indiana during MotoGP is great! Head downtown and make sure you take a cab. We partied with a couple of the teams a couple of years back. Everyone is bike focused and in a party mood. And if you like Blues make sure you hit the Slippery Noodle <--- not making the name up or making sexual...
We always cross at Windsor - it sure doesn't feel shorter! But yes - the ride will be quite boring unless you back road it. Or, once you hit Indiana you can doff your lid and do 80 mph down the interstate with your g/f on the back - that'll make for an exciting ride no?! Still makes me queasy...
