Last weekends ride using GPS for accurate mileage. 1983 650 Nighthawk, 4.7L/100km which works out to around 60 mpg on a windy day. I have recorded 65 mpg other days.

Venom01, that's about what I was quoted from Intact. Now I pay $498 with Desjardins insurance with no bike safety required. Google Desjardins for info, if your record is clean you could save lots of money.

I was with Jevco/Intact and switched my 30 year old bike to Desjardins insurance and saved lots. Also last I heard from a broker was that Intact would require a safety check done at my expense, well Desjardins didn't.

Three years on my mirrored visor and no problem. Clean with warm water and a very small amount of mild soap, dry with micro cloth. The mirror film is on the inside.

I was with Jevco for years. Intact took over and offered me a $200 increase on my 30 year old bike. No tickets, nothing. I switched to Desjardins and ended up paying even less than I did with Jevco. Lowest rate in 4 years. Damned if I'm helping Intact with the cost of buying Jevco.

Went by there around 1pm, cops had everythig blocked off but from what I could see, there were bike parts all over 4 lanes of traffic. I felt sick to my stomach. RIP rider.

I would not even bother going for a look at $3000. As a rider of a 30 year old bike, things are going to come up that don't appear on newer bikes. Electric problems need fixed because of age and if your not handy with a multi-meter and wrenches the old bike CAN cost you a fortune in repairs...

I've been using a tv tower forever in York region. It's an old antenna but will pick up digital signals. Gets 5,9,19,41,47,57 and 3 if I turn the rotor which I never do. I'm sure if I bought a newer antenna I could get more. Once you buy the system, your done with Rogers/Bell extorsion forever...

Quick update on Desjardin insurance. They will allow monthly payments for no extra fees. I finalized insurance with them today. I have no idea what they would be like on SS bikes but they might be worth a try.

My Jevco/Intact rate went up 26.1% No claims, no tickets. I guess Intact want me to help pay for buying Jevco, lol. Not going to happen, I'm moving on.
