    Clutch cable - how tight?

Apparently not quite every serious bikeshop sells the cable lubers, but I found one at Z1 Cycletech :) I probably should have bought can of cable lube too, but I used the chain lube and for now it's as good as new. Maybe next time I'll put in cable lube. Too bad so much of it sprayed out of the...

    What's "silicone sealant"?

I've taken my clutch cover off and soon will have to install it back. I'll be getting a new gasket. The manual says to put "silicone sealant" between the gasket and the crankcase. Can someone please explain what that is? Is it a glue? I went and got from crappy tire a "SealAll Contact Adhesive...

    Clutch cable - how tight?

Does anyone know where I can get a cable luber? I hear Princess Auto but I can't find it on their website or their catalog. And any chance there is a place closer to the north side of the GTA?

Cool, I'll get a new one then, thanks for the advice! Any recomendations on what cable lube to get? Or are they all the same?

    Clutch cable - how tight?

I took my clutch cable off, to make sure it's not a routing issue and it's not. Pulling the cable all the way in one direction or the other requires measurable effort. The clutch release lever has quite a lot of force so I'm sure it can pull it, but I wonder if that's normal. There's one...

    Oil changes on the road

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice. I'm planning a long road trip, probably about 7-8k. I'm going to need to change my oil 2k into it (according to schedule). Did anyone ever get their oil changed on the road? I always do it myself, I don't even know who does bike oil changes. Any oil place or...

Good roads for trip to the Maritimes from Toronto?

Do you remember which roads you took through the states? I think I know what you mean about the boring part. If it's all like the 401 in the GTA it would be a complete waste of time. Though I've heard that in New Brunswick there are much nicer roads.

Good roads for trip to the Maritimes from Toronto?

I do have a passport. I'm not exactly avoiding US roads, it's just that I'd like to go to the maritimes and through Canada is the most direct way, we'll only have a few days (maybe a week). Thanks for the link Lightcycle, I'll try to make a route using them, though it looks like most of the...

Good roads for trip to the Maritimes from Toronto?

Hey We're thinking of going to Nova Scotia one of the weeks in the summer, and I wonder if anyone here has advice on nice riding roads on the way? By the looks of it there isn't much to choose from between Toronto and Quebec city unless we take big detours, but seems like the maritimes...

    Corrosion protection comparison test

Got my T-9 from the mailman today and will be applying it thoroughly all over. Also - I'd like to put in a good word for Lee Valley and Boeshield Canada, people from both have been very helpful.

    Corrosion protection comparison test

No, it's just a little bit of rust powder on the surface, it doesn't look like it ate into the metal at all. I think I'm ok, just want to make sure I take care of this bike as best as I can. I'll clean it with wd40 tomorrow, and spray it with something better when I get it. It does, thanks. I...

Maybe a case from a computer you're about to scrap? It's not painted on the inside. I just gave all my old ones away..

    Corrosion protection comparison test

I just noticed some rust on the back of my pipes, and am a bit freaked out. I have to get one of these. I also have to get some Mother's Chrome Polish, but I guess that doesn't do anything for rust. I'm thinking of using that on the chrome and T9 on the insides, or should I use T9 on...

    Corrosion protection comparison test

Re: What S100 had to say Thanks for the work Vlad, very informative. I guess I have to go to their store to buy it? They don't even have the address on the website ;) Will they even sell a small can? Is the ACF50 a spray, or what? Can I apply it without needing a special tool?

    Handles

Re: Handles.... Mig21: an actual nickname I got from a former pilot who said I'm like those damned jets - fast and deadly :) I was too young to drive/ride when I got the nickname, he was just talking about how I deal with complicated problems.
