That's because there are ways around a "wage freeze" and they all know it. When us regular folk have our wages frozen it means just that, no increase in pay, period! However, that's not the way it works in the public sector. For the uninitiated let me explain. Every position has a designation...

    Provincial politics

Short answer; “a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.” (Paul Simon, “The Boxer”) Long answer, paraphrased excerpts from an article in Forbes. A common analytical error is the “post hoc ergo propter hoc” fallacy. (Meaning, "after this, therefore because of this.”) For...

It's my understanding that due to her age and the fact that the Hudak's first child has medical issues the pregnancy was considered, "high risk". Therefore, it was a decision made by the Hudak's doctor that the baby be delivered at Sunnybrook. No conspiracy, no wasting of tax dollars, no moving...

Really? I mean REALLY, you'd pick Wynne over Hudak? Here, see if you can get your head around this. Forget EHealth, Ornge Air, MaRS or any of the other scandals. Lets just look at the billion dollars that Wynne admits was wasted taxpayers money. That equals $73,855 for each and every one of the...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Re: OPP wants to be in politics now Being the victim of a home invasion that resulted in over $26,000 in damages and lost property I can speak with some authority on the matter. Of all the criminal charges that can be laid against a person only seven carry the Canadian maximum penalty, that of...

I can't believe some of you people. You think that saying, "I take full responsibility" and "I'm sorry that taxpayers money was wasted" is all that is needed to forgive and forget. Geez, really? If a rapist said he was taking full responsibility for his crimes do you think merely saying I'm...

    How long should stuff last?

I'm not being nostalgic, I have no misconceptions of what cars were like in the 50's and 60's. I'm speaking from experience and specifically to statements like they rusted out after 2-3 years and were all junk after 5 years. We're not talking about Chrysler "K" cars from the 70's! How many of...

    How long should stuff last?

Your original comment was; "Far better than the 1950- 1960 era when they were junkers in 5 years." Tire construction, oil changes, fuel consumption and crash protection have nothing to do with that statement! I grew up in the 50's and 60's. I remember people keeping their cars for 10+ years. Not...

    How long should stuff last?

Dude regarding cars, you know not of what you speak. The majority of automobiles built in North America pre 1970 were solid and dependable. Best of all, the average Joe could do basic maintenance and make repairs without needing a degree or expensive electronic diagnostic equipment. I agree...

Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Ah geez you guys are breaking me heart... My (much) older brothers always said I was spoiled because they only got to listen to radio shows as kids whereas I got to watch programs on our 7" RCA. And then before I was old enough to start school my father built his own 27" cabinet B&W. He never...

First service is at 1000kms. Then it’s every 6000km’s thereafter. So 1+6=7 unless I missed something in the manual. The mechanic should have reset reminder as well so you’ll have a 1000kms to prepare. ;)

    MV Agusta Group Ride

Actually, 6 Dragsters came to Canada originally. To my knowledge Motorsports World in Ottawa delivered the first one. Tim lead me to believe that was it until next year. You must understand that even if you ordered one now and it was built within a month it still wouldn't arrive until the next...

    2015 Yamaha R1

No, I was trying to illustrate that Ducati, Honda and Yamaha didn't see a need to use conventional side mounted cans for their race bikes like their Aprilia, Suzuki and Kawasaki competitors were/are using. As for everyday CBR's and similar street bikes the under tail exhaust models don't seem...

    2015 Yamaha R1

Pardon me? Ducati won 11 WSB Championship titles (14 Manufactures Championships) with under tail exhaust bikes. Honda and Yamaha one each for Manfactures. Honda’s Moto 3 bikes seem to producing lots of horse power with under tail exhausts as well.

    EESA gun club open house - June 7/8 9am - 4pm

Re: EESA gun club open house - June 7/8 9am - 5pm Many clubs have similar events. If you can't make it to this one do a search for those near you and check them out. I haven't been to Oshawa or Orono for a several years now. I got totally out of guns after selling my collection back in the...
