Like others have said, you will learn the most at your RTI course. They cover the very basics from just walking the bike; to how to sit on your bike at an intersection/stopped or to actually ride a motorcycle.

Welcome and awesome bike! As for the Suzuki dealer, you lucked out on your sale- they offer great prices but some of the salesman are shady. Not uncommon to see a salesman trying to sell a first time rider a GSXR 1000 in there.
