You want to learn how counter steering works? Go ride a bicycle- it's the exact same principle. If you're running wide making left hand turns, I would not be riding a motorcycle on public roads (For now). You're creating a dangerous situation for yourself that could be very costly. It sounds...
Sharp looking bike! You did a great job. As for OP, don't ride out of your comfort zone. Also, I don't know if you ride in the rain but be careful when making turns at intersections because the paint on the ground is extremely slippery when wet.
So far I'm just looking for a full system but post if you got other stuff too.
-MRD/SSW Full exhaust system
To get in contact with me, do it through here or PM me.
My comfort level is just sitdowns right now, if you guys are already popping them high enough to get to worry about the balance point than damn.. Just keep popping them and you'll slowly get more comfortable with the bike coming up and feeling that balance point- even sitting down.
I don't get why people think it looks weird, it's there for protection. It's not in anyway overkill, I would rather being wearing that then looking bareskin.
Nope you're incorrect, he wasn't splitting the lane. I do it all the time in Aurora with parked cars, though I go very slow and putter along in first gear.
Why would they claim that? It's clear in the video the rider "panick braked" because of the taxi pulling into his lane. If the taxi hadn't pulled such actions, then the rider wouldn't have even needed to brake.
Lol! ^, I wear my gear all the time. I learnt this by going down on my dirtbike in shorts, my fat FMF exhuast landed on my leg and burnt me. If I had my riding pants, would have defiantly stopped that from happening.
So I ended up purchasing a new DRZ 400 SM, can't wait to pick up it next week. Like to say thanks guys for all the info, and I'm sure Ill have a blast as my second bike.
I saw a driver yesterday making a left hand turn at a major intersection, it was divided by the median. I don't know what he was thinking but he went into the oncoming lane as if he was making a right hand turn. Thankfully no cars were there and he pulled back.
Have fun with the meet, hope it went good. I'm planning on getting a supermoto and would like to go to some meet ups and for some rides sometime this summer.
Hey thanks for the offer but I won't be able to make it, it would be close to a 40 minute ride down (From Newmarket). But. when I decide on the DRZ I would defiantly be up for some riding sometime. What do you think of your DRZ so far?
Own a 250 with a Two Brothers slip-on (no silencer), I fire my bike up at 6:30 ish Mon-Friday and let it idle for a few minutes. If I go for a joy ride really late in the night, I'll push my bike to the street and start it up and keep my RPM's very low. Never had a problem..yet.
Not at all, though it's only my second riding season. I ride all in types of weather; rain, cold, foggy etc and the best part is being done work and hopping on the bike. I never want to get off but than I remember, when I wake up in the morning I get to do it all again:).
