Find Headlight Low Beam Wire - 2012 Honda Shadow Phantom

D'oh! Totally forgot the low-beam switches off when the high-beam is on! Dug up a 2009 service manual. I'm going to look for an alternate line and leave the headlight alone, per Brian P. Don't want to end up duct-taping a flashlight to the handlebar to get home :) I've done plenty of house...

Find Headlight Low Beam Wire - 2012 Honda Shadow Phantom

Haven't used a DMM in a while. Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't I need a bare terminal or stripped wire to check voltage? What I was actually trying to ask was if there are some generic markings on the wires I can eyeball?

Things to look out for riding on the street?

Smile. Just remember to keep your mouth closed so bugs don't get in. Seriously, keep a firm grip on the bars and grit your teeth till you get desensitized to the wind. I also use foam earplugs if I'm riding at 80+ for long periods (rural/hwy).

Don't Drive Here (Bangkok) on Discovery

Anyone see the Bangkok episode of Don't Drive Here? I can't find it online to link here. I found myself yelling at the TV. The host spends a large portion of the episode taking insane risks through Bangkok traffic on mopeds & scooters without any training or experience. The final portion...

Find Headlight Low Beam Wire - 2012 Honda Shadow Phantom

Is there any way to differentiate between the high and low beam wires before cutting? I'm planning on splicing into the low beam & ground wires to install LED running lights. Any other way? Thanks.

How do you guys wave to other motorcyclist

I wish more riders used the helmet tap. Really annoying when I receive a regular wave/peace sign instead of the helmet tap when there's 5-0 ahead. If you have the free hand, warn me!

    Shell/Gas Station Rant

I don't see the problem here. Gas pumps, air compressors, Tim Hortons windows: all these are DESIGNED for you to ride right up. Why would you need to get off the bike to use these?

    earbuds?

I use these Sennheiser MM100 bluetooth headphones with my shorty. Controls on the right side are glove-friendly. It lets in enough ambient sound for city-riding and you can comfortably fit foam earplugs underneath for highway riding. Single charge lasts all day...
