What are you trying to achieve by changing your handlebars? You may need bar raiser or to simply adjust your current bars. I used to like the pro taper fat bars but found it hard to fit various wrap around hand guards on them cause the mounts weren't the best. I never thought about the bend...
I want to get a Husky 701 for those days when I have no one to ride with pure off road. I would leave my house and go back road adventuring. Either ride to the Ganny do the double track or easy single track, go to St Williams putter around on those trails a bit although the whoops would be a...
I still think it belongs in the dual sport category. It's a single cylinder engine and should be compared against other thumpers. The Africa Twin is a much different bike, parallel twin, suspension travel and geometry is different. Although both share same wheel size. Swing arm gap is probably...
Back to the topic at hand of the 701 Husky. If it's about 15k to buy, what is it's closest competition Honda 650, Kawi 650? I think the Honda is like 8k ish to buy and the KLR in the 7's? Both when new. That means the Husky is almost double the price. I would argue it's worth it cause the Husky...
I think a KTM 2 stroke is worth price. The cost to add steel braided lines and hydraulic clutch to a Japanese bike when new would be the same price if not more. I bet the reliability of a Yz250 2T to ktm 250 2T is similar.
I'm totally going to try and attend this. Didn't see anything about cost though. Perhaps here we will learn of future Husky demos. Seems silly to only demo your bikes in the dead of winter.
I have test ridden a 2016 690 at Apex cycle last year for their demo days. Problem with that is you get a very limited feel for the bike but I suppose it's better than nothing. I imagine the fuel map for the bike would have something to do with that sensation around 3k rpm. If I owned a bike...
Has anyone seen one of these majestic beauties yet on the roads near the GTA yet? I have plans to add one to my stable in a year or so. I'm partial to the Husk because of the slightly larger gas tank, little longer front suspension travel and the new 74hp single in the 2017's vs it's cousin the...
Just throwing it out there. I'm heading to the Ganny on friday, suppose to be nice weather! I'm hoping to be there around 10-11am. Reply here or PM if you want to ride. I'lll be riding a lot of single track on my ktm 300.
I rode there today. I saw 2 guys that were hunting, they had a shotgun, we waved to each other. That's the first time I've actually ever seen someone with a firearm in the Ganny before. I wonder what they were hunting?
I haven't found any tracts in Simcoe that I would consider are as good as the Ganny. Is there any decent Hills or up and down terrain in any of the Simcoe tracts?
Also Simcoe benefits from Blue plated machines much more than the Ganny does.
With what you just described, I would say the KTM 690 Enduro is probably the best bike for that. It would be a pig in really rough off road conditions though. If I owned a 690 Enduro I feel like I could do the 160km commute from Burlington to the Ganny. Once at the Ganny I'd probably ride for...
That sounds like a challenge to me!!! LOL... in all seriousness those xr400's were nice little bikes back in the day but I would rather be riding any modern KTM 2 stroke in the woods.
I rode some Wildman and Hendrie Tract this year. I prefer the Ganny over Simcoe. I think a big part for me is that the Ganny is 90 to 100 minutes away where as Simcoe trails can be further like 110 minutes.
