Get your carrier to unlock it (if you meet their criteria). For iPhones locked to Canadian carriers, you are roughly looking around 200$ to getting it unlocked online (anything drastically different tends to be a scam). The jailbreak method is completely wonky, and useless on newer iPhones...

+1, this is true! though on an m1 you shouldn't be out once the sun goes down....your tires won't be too sticky

The HD2 isn't all that bad, I've always had a problem with the battery, though I hear the HD3 has better power management. The choice is yours, get the latest and greatest!
