I started out on the 250 (this is my first full season) and it is a great bike for the city traffic. I got on the 401 yesterday and felt like I needed just a bit more power, like MacDoc said above, to feel truly comfortable. I think the heavier 500cc would give a more stable feeling.

I agree. Places like Montreal and Quebec City, and other places in Canada, have By-laws that in certain parts of the city the facade of the bldg must adhere to a strict appearance so as not to clash with the charm of the existing bldgs. I guess Toronto politicians do not care as long as there...
I ride a 250 also. i watched the video in this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyRYL80lvn8&feature=youtu.be earlier this week and started applying the principles to taking turn and curves with confidence.
As was stated by several posters, half a cheek off the seat and knee pointed to the...
I used steel toe boots during my course last year and even used them during all my outings in Nov 2012, as stated above, they have to cover the ankles. I picked up proper boots for this season.
I commuted yesterday for the first time this season. After coming home I went out with my kids in the car. It felt so sluggish and heavy. Now I ride a ninja 250 so it is not a powerhouse. Makes me wonder what riders on the SS' must feel.
I picked up Avon's AM26 from www.canadasmotorcycle.com for around $240. Put them on this past weekend and they feel pretty good, nice and grippy on the turns.

Welcome to the world of motorcycles. Like you it took me along time to decide to finally get the license. Every time I'm on the bike I have a gigantic smile inside my helmet. Good luck on the course and have fun.
this link which was posted about the merits of lane splitting. It uses a electric zero bike as one of the 3 test bikes.

if you are coming from a country other than Switzerland, you must as pass a written test that tests your knowledge of motorcycles and traffic signs. if you have proof of 2 or more yrs of driving experience, you take the level 2 test and earn an M license. If you don't pass the test you get the...
I have both the true north and the alter ego pants. The true north do not have venting as the alter ego does (you remove a panel and it leaves straight mesh). I bought the true north in XL to fit over jeans then picked up the true north in large as it fit better for me (34 waist regular...
I sympathize will all of you going through this. i have not had this sort of problem but my wife and 8 yr old son both had bulging disks so i can understand the pain you are going through. in our case, the docs offered pain meds and rest as the solution, luckily in my son's case he only needed...
Based on that UK review of tires, i bought the Avon's, can't wait to install them and ride this season on them. I was a bit dubious at first because of the low price but regardless decided to take a chance; can't go wrong with front and rear tires for $240 cdn
