Toronto anti-Uber protest - These TO taxi drivers are #@$%!!!!

Uber will win because it is based on low prices which is based on low earnings for Uber drivers But not low for Uber itself. Uber will also win because of what so many have pointed out on here and any other sites discussing GTA cab drivers. I worked in the industry, yes many cabs are dirty...

Toronto anti-Uber protest - These TO taxi drivers are #@$%!!!!

So your gas and expenses have totaled 22 cents per km, are you calculating in your depreciation? Every km you run for the company you should be properly compensated for. You may be getting ripped off. You may hit a large expense that will blow the 22 cents away but probably not because I never...

Toronto anti-Uber protest - These TO taxi drivers are #@$%!!!!

No I am not nuts,. There are many reliable "Total car costs" sites available just punch the stats in for your vehicle into any 10 of them and they will all come up with figures close to what I claim. Do you really believe all those sites are wrong and you are right. Perhaps they know something...

Toronto anti-Uber protest - These TO taxi drivers are #@$%!!!!

I have no dispute with your numbers. I was a taxi owner operator for 6 years, in Barrie not in Toronto but let's analyze them a bit. If the taxi charged you $80 one way it was about a 40 km trip since most taxi rates are about $2 per km. So the Uber guy charged you $40. He has to pay Uber 20%...

    100 000 +

Wow, lots of km in 5 years, way to go. You may turn the 100,000 this year. Mine increased more slowly because I have an FZ1 as well, also not riding as much as I get older and my part time job is almost full time. Also been doing a lot of dirt biking with my grandkids and that uses up much of...

    100 000 +

The bike hasn't been ridden really hard, probably not to the "red line" often but I don't know, I am not sure because the 2001 does not have a tach like some earlier and later models, but it has been ridden all day on the 400 series and interstates at 120+ km/hr. I did ride it 1825 km in one day...

No, never had any of those problems, mine is a 2001. Are they common problems with the dr 650? I have had so few problems with it that I neverhad to go on to a trouble shooting/ weakness site for information. Maybe I have been very lucky

Still does not need oil added between oil changes, head gasket replaced at 55000 km nothing else...

Hilarious Finds: street signs, posters, license plates, TV ads, etc.

Saw a sign outside a Timmys in Barrie a few years ago. Originally it had said "full and part time help wanted" but somebody moved a couple of letters and it became "pull and fart time help wanted"

    sick bastards

Well men over there live in a society where the rich and/or powerful elder males get 4 or more wives, and often they are only 12-13. This does not leave many women for the rest of the men. I guess under those circumstances sheep and goats begin to look good. How else will they get their 72 virgins!

    Worn tires

I searched past postings on this topic but did not really find a satisfactory answer. My wear bars just began to show today, is it safe to ride about 250 km til I get new tires. I had one sudden flat on a bike due to a puncture and it was not a pleasant experience. I figure it probably is safe...
