I like both cramp buster and go cruise - I think they are great and I use both of them for long trips.
Word of caution:
cramp buster - take it slow and get used to it. If positioned too high - u will experience sudden urges of acceleration as all it will take is gentle push to get your bike...
It really sucks that it had to happen the way it happened - but look on the bright side >

OP, if you decide to sell - try to keep your insurance going (may be put yourself as secondary on your dad's bike). When it's time to get your bike again - you will have uninterrupted bike insurance history.
