    Well this can't be good...

Yeah someone on another forum pointed those marks out. I'm not sure how they got there, it's always been like that. I thought that's just the way they are. No US shipping address, but I did get an offer from someone to give me their 2008 bent forks for free. I'm still waiting to hear back from...

No, no pinch bolts were broken. The fork is cracked

I don't think I can. I was looking around over the weekend and I believe the piece I need is significantly different. I don't think it would work without swapping most of the front end. R6 2006+ are mostly all the same, with 2008+ being 10mm longer. Thanks though.

I've been thinking about it all day and that's the conclusion I came to. A bent fork + shipping is going to be more than I expected. Together with labour (wouldn't try the swap myself) and I'm pretty close to just buying a full used set and selling my good right side. Leaning back toward...

You're welcome to have a look once I get it replaced. One guy on another forum suggested I could replace just that lower piece. He's suggesting the tube is threaded and sealed with red loctite, and/or there is a single bolt in the bottom of the tube holding them together. If they can come...

Ah, I see what you're saying. It's quite possible at some point someone did that. I'm not the first owner. I can say it definitely wasn't me, and the crack only showed up today as I was tightening the pinch bolts. The axle was already tight at that point.

New riders: should we armour up?

Re: 1.5 foot dropped helmet I would agree. The good thing to do would be to replace it for him since you did the damage, but the helmet is not a write off. One of the biggest myths in motorcycling that a dropped helmet always needs to be replaced. 6:55...

Heli-coils? The threads aren't actually stripped, the problem is the crack above the hole to the far left side. I just realized I didn't clearly explain that anywhere yet.

That would be ideal! Unfortunately Saturday morning is when the misses takes the little one to the early learning centre. I have to advantage of the time when I can get it! Yeah, they seem a lot more plentiful. I'm not sure about the compatibility, but I think I'd have to at least switch...

Really? The best I've been able to find are used forks from the states for $325USD. That's $400CAD, plus shipping, if the guy is even willing to do it to Canada. The single "inner tube" is about $300 brand new just by itself. Unfortunately I also just had my forks rebuilt about 50 km ago, so the...

I was just putting my front wheel on and this happened as I was tightening down the pinch bolts: Pretty ******. I was using a torque wrench too to make sure I didn't do anything stupid. There is still a bunch of meat holding the pieces together but those pinch bolts aren't doing...

Looking for Frame Sliders for Older R6

Everyone on r6-forum.com seems to say the best are woodcraft and vortex. I had a look on woodcraft's website and I'm not sure they're available for your year. On the other hand, vortex are: https://www.vortexracing.com/shop/product/134221/1736/

telematics so far no one gets discount

I signed up a few months back. Didn't really want to, but we moved and our car insurance almost doubled unexpectedly. I didn't really want to participate, but it was hard to say no to the hundreds of dollars of sign up discount on principle alone. I also know I'm going to be switching insurance...
