What's your scariest moment on a bike

Update for those who are interested: I filed a warranty claim with Michelin. They wanted me to take the tire back into the shop that saw it originally (not necessarily the shop that sold it). I took it back in and the guys there who hadn't seen it the first time were just as shocked. No one has...

failed my m1 exit test. how to rebuild confidence?

Definitely see if you can do a free retest. I know that was the deal when I did mine at Humber. If you failed your first time, you could come back just for the test portion the next Sunday and try again. You might consider doing Trail Tours. http://www.trailtours.ca/ I did it a few summers ago...

Nowhere special. I just use a bicycle pump and a pressure gauge.

Thanks, me either. It is a bit of a confidence boost that when something like this happens, my reflexes are capable of handling it. I'm by no means a pro, but i must be doing alright.

What's your scariest moment on a bike

Yep totally stock. When I got a chance to look I tried to see if anything could have been rubbing in it, but there is nothing there. My license plate is bent now, but that's certainly from pieces flying off and smashing into it.

What's your scariest moment on a bike

Mine was Sunday night. Was up north this weekend and didn't head south again until after dinner time. Traffic is always moving pretty good then, and I was keeping up with everyone in the left lane. I rode around with a buddy earlier in the day and my bike felt great. Then, just as I was coming...

    Looking for Rain Gear

Mine packs pretty large too. It has a strap so you can wear it around your waist but it's bigger than any fanny pack I've ever seen. I don't know how it would hold up against heat, I wouldn't want to touch a hot pipe with it. I was a little nervous putting it in my saddle bag near the exhaust...

    Looking for Rain Gear

Getting back to the original topic, I did find a new rain suit. GPBikes had a nice one piece, I believe it was the Oxford Rain Seal http://www.oxford-shop.co.uk/item3568.htm for about $80. Rode with it in PA 2 weeks ago and it held up well, although others might say it leaks. It's probably worth...

    Looking for Rain Gear

Alright, I wasn't going to discuss this publicly but since you want to I might as well tell my side of the story. About a month ago I sold my old rain suit. It was a medium and I'm 6'1 220lbs so it never really fit me well when I was crouched up on a supersport. I put it up for sale on Kijiji...

Bike won't start - accessory wired and petcock left on night before

So is that better or worse? I can't tell if it's actually turning over the engine properly, or just making some other noise.

Bike won't start - accessory wired and petcock left on night before

Generally that's the case. The starter motor takes 12v in, and grounds itself through it's connection to the engine case. Yep. As soon as you hook the + to that wire the motor will turn over. Doesn't matter. It would normally have 12v running through it anyway.

Then the power source isn't your problem. It has to be the starter, or the circuit delivering power to the starter. You can try hooking 12v right to the starter, see if it cranks any better.

    RE GEAR Stores.

Wow, just found their website. Looks identical, as I imagine the store does. They've changed their name and tagline very slightly, but that wouldn't be enough to get them out of a lawsuit. http://www.re-gear.ca Oshawa, Kingston http://www.recycledgear.ca, Lindsay
