This makes no sense at all. If the chain broke, there are now two ends to the chain. Pulling the clutch in does not release the rear sprocket from the rear wheel, so the wheel will still be locked up. And even if it did magically release the rear wheel, the chain cannot stay on the now...

Does not matter what chain lube you use, someone always has something better. Use something that says it is for motorcycle chains. And then don't tell anyone else what you use, because it will always be the wrong one.

No bike gets it spark from the battery. The spark is from a voltage dramatically higher than any lead acid battery can produce on its own. Same goes for getting spark from alternator. Now a magneto is different. That can produce the power needed to start a mototcycle without a battery...

I generally try to find a gear that I can idle along at. Of course you need to have a bike with a sufficient size engine to that. I find a 1000cc bike can idle along in 2nd and 3rd gear quite happily.
