Welcome, just not sure why new would be riders don't do their homework before going out and buying a bike.

Should all be considered before going out and getting that dream bike.
No offense, but I promise you, you only stand to gain by picking up the good hsbits from the beginning. Do a course that's close to you. It is time and money well spent.
All courses are structured as if you have never ridden. This would help to get rid of any bad habits and help you progress...
Glad that you got a bargain; however if you are so safety conscious as you say, you would wear a full face all the time. City riding as others have said is equally as dangerous as hwy riding. It's a free world though.
